Bart did a great job moving a heavy arcade game to my basement. Great communication throughout. I would highly recommend Bart and wouldn't hesitate to hire again.
We had an odor problem that started suddenly and we could not determine the source. We thought it might be something to with natural gas. The gas rep came and said no. We called a contractor and he said the problem was moisture and advised removing the insulation from the outside wall in the basement. We called a plumber who told us that it wasn't the lift station but we needed a new sump pump. ($498 please) We called a building inspector and he told us that it was definitely a water issue. We didn't believe him since we could detect no smell after removing insulation. $100 please. We called a mold abatement company and they said that it wasn't mold but we needed a new dehumidifier ($150 please) to get the room dried out. Advice - $150 please. As it turned out all the advice was wrong and expensive. We called Ultra Clean were notified within 15 minutes with contact information for the rep in our neighborhood and he was here in 15 minutes and he solved the problem in less than 15 minutes. (It was a piece of insulation that had been contaminated within the last 27 years that caused the odor.) The bottom line is that we paid a bunch of people who were guessing. Our basement has always been dry. It is finished space and the problem started suddenly. If we would have called Ultra Clean at the beginning we would have saved lots of money and the time we wasted trying to figure out the cause of the problem. I am not looking forward to our next odor issue but when it happens Ultra Clean will get the call. Ultra Clean solved the problem. $25 please!
WD did a great job helping us finish off two remodeled rooms in our basement. From tile to cutting and installing trim, we are very satisfied with the work and the rate was reasonable. We heartily recommend WD Home Repairs!
I had my interior trim and doors installed and painted. I had started the process a couple years ago, but was having difficulty finishing the project with 3 young boys and all there activities. I hired Adventure 25 to come out and give a bid and they could start the project in about a week. The first part of the process was to finish the trim work and rip all the basement trim out and a couple of doors that had not been replaced yet. The trim work was done in a couple of days. The painting was delayed because of rainy weather. This is where the stress begins. The prep work that comes before painting can be a lot of work and time consuming. There was little to no prep of the trim. Lots of missed nail holes, lots of missed caulking and the stuff that was done was very poor. I was told that this is high quality paint and it will cover in one coat. I know better. It can take several coats to make the white trim look good. There was paint all over the wood floors, tile in kitchen, paint on the cabinets, paint on my trees outside, paint on the concrete driveway, paint on my fire pit. There seemed to be no care in the world. Jaimie kept telling me that we are not painters. I understand that but my 5 year could of done better. It was supposed to be rolled and instead there was pain brush marks all the trim. The one painter said he thought it would look cute to but swirls with his brush on the top of all the door trims. I met with Jaimie 4 different times to which he said how do I make this right? I would go through things with him and come home at the end of the day to find more of a mess and continued poor quality work. I have never seen anything like this. He would say it would be fixed but I don't think he would watch over his workers and forget to tell them things. I am stressed out beyond believe as my hope was to have this finished to spend more time with my kids. Instead I have to redo most of it. I had another contractor come out and told me it would be about 10 thousand to fix. He never had seen such poor quality work. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Very nice person but I think he was over his head and always in a rush, hence the poor quality work. Since I cant pay 10 thousand to someone to fix it, I am now looking at a year or so to fix my trim. Very frustrated and angry customer.
I had a great experience when I hired Northern RX Construction for our tiling of our basement shower. The attention to detail is their best attribute. They stayed late to make sure the job was completed on time and that I was happy with the results. I'll definitely recommend them to my friends and family. Tyler is awesome!
You won't regret working with Casey. He is very responsive, professional, does great work and very fairly priced. We had some flooding in our basement and needed the trim reinstalled. He did that and cut some mold out of the wall. All-around we were very impressed and very happy we hired Casey.
Picture this. ...a flooded house, with endless tussle with the insurance company and a gloomy moldy smell , until I met Julio. From hard wood floor installation, plumbing in the bathroom, installing a storm door, refinishing partial basement from water damage to helping with other handy jobs that were not even part of the agreement, because he is s perfectionist. The best part of it all was his professionalism. He treated my home with respect and I am happy to come home again.
I had Dave Construction work on a basement ceiling installation. They did a great job with installing the ceiling I chose. They finished everything in just a couple of days and cleaned up the area of the installation. The ceiling looks great. I would definitely hire them again.
Im so pleased to find Kel Heyl on Thumbtack as now he will be available to even more homeowners. Kel has done work on and in my home since 2004, from very large projects to small tasks. I love that he is such a careful, creative and meticulous craftsman his work is never slapdash. Ive always been very happy with the results, and can recommend him highly to anyone interested in having work done on their home by somebody who knows what hes doing, and will do it well. Doug installed trim and doors for the entire basement. He was professional, courteous, and provided suggestions along the way to better meet my needs for the project. Highly recommend!
We had a basement room partially finished and soundproofed to use as a music space, and Preston was wonderful at listening to our needs and being flexible while we figured out what we wanted. He is easygoing and pleasant, great at communicating and then sticking to a timeline, and was careful to clean the path in and out as he worked. He brought in electricians and another hired hand for some of the work, all of whom were also nice. We had a great experience and we love the final outcome!
Cris has done our bedroom, basement, and bathroom remodel. He's very thorough, has great communication skills and is great about making suggestions and finding solutions to things that you encounter during remodels... I feel great confidence in his workmanship.
True Professionals, they worked with me every step of the way on my basement finishing project. I had some bad past experiences with other contractors so it was refreshing to work with these guys. Everything looks excellent. Exceeded all my expectations.
Dan Sheetrocked, mud/taped, and finished our ceilings in our basement. He was very efficient, friendly and did an AMAZING job!!! Not one seam in the entire basement!!! Highly recommend!!!
I used Kohner Construction to finish a basement this spring. They worked with me to identify solutions within my budget and were timely, clean and responsive over the course of the project.
F&P listened really well to what I wanted in my new home and used as many of my ideas as they thought feasible. When there was a change to be made, it was always for the better design-wise or money-wise. I was amazed at how they could come up with a drawn-up plan that was just what I wanted, even though I did not always have a clear picture in my own mind. They opened up a load-bearing wall between my living room and dining room, making sure that the city engineers came out to help figure out the safest way to accomplish it and to sign off on the plans. F&P came up with a cost-saving solution for an old shower in the basement, which saved me doing an entire bath remodel. In my galley kitchen, F&P built and installed a small flip up butcher block table by the back garden window, for having a solo meal or cup of tea, while gazing out the window. They put in new baseboards throughout the house and installed new doors. In the front entry, F&P removed the 1950's style floor-to-ceiling poles and instead designed a half-wall to fit around a bench with storage spaces for shoes which I had and wanted to use, for people to sit on when entering and for separating entry space from the rest of the living room. They designed and built it like furniture, with a finished look: inset panels and a top mantel-like ledge resting on cove molding. F&P cleaned up each day after their work, neatly stowing tools and materials and vacuuming/sweeping up construction dust. This was MUCH appreciated, as I was spending my evenings and time in between their work painting walls and woodwork. Everything was done with care for design, safety and budgeting. F&P always presented a complete written estimate of the cost, coming in at or sometimes, below the estimate. If there was an unexpected cost or choice to be made, they consulted me first, my decision being the final one. No hidden costs to surprise me in the end! I would not hesitate to use F&P Remodeling by Design for any future home remodeling and heartily recommend them for anyone wanting to remodel in their home.
Michael came highly recommended to me by a friend. My basement had flooded and I had no idea who to call. After getting his number I called and he answered immediately. He was able to come over with his crew the same day and mitigate the water damage. He guided me through the whole process and was always very responsive. His professionalism was unparalleled and his craftsmanship exceptional. My basement looks even better than before the flooding thanks to Michael and his crew. I now recommend him to all of my family, friends and clients because I know he will do a great job for them as he did for me.
We were extremely happy with the results from VanVleet Construction in so many ways. It's unusual to find one company that is very knowledgeable in many ways,be it flooring, plumbing finishing, general construction sheet rock work, the list goes on and on. Best of all, the were very neat and polite the whole time they were here. No messes. We would definitely hire VanVleet Construction again.
Sinan is a rare treasure when it comes to contractors. His work is fueled by honesty, integrity, and without the sales pitch that is so common among others in the industry. I would gladly recommend him to anyone for small bathroom finishing to full remodels!
We had our first sit down with Executive Exteriors & Remodeling in October of 2015. After meeting the owner Mike and our project manager Gary, and reviewing the design plans, we knew this was the team we wanted to move forward with for our full basement remodel. They were very open and honest regarding the process and utilization of our space. We had a partially finished basement that was very outdated with pine wood walls and doily wall paper! Executive created just the functionality we were needing out of the space in our basement. It turned into a master suite, walk in closet, large full bath, and super cozy family room from a partially finished party room/bar, unfinished storage, and unfinished laundry room. We began the project in January after the holidays and wrapped up March. The team was easy to reach and had a schedule so we knew when to expect certain milestones in our project. The team members Gary and Mike work with are knowledgeable and respectful of us and our home. We cannot believe the results. Thank you Executive Exteriors & Remodeling for adding this beautiful space to our home! Not only do we love the space, it added a great amount of equity to our home.
Such nice work. Finished our basement -looks really nice! Great job
