I have been installing and servicing fences in various capacities for three years, first as an employee with a family-run fence company in Massachusetts and now independently. Customer satisfaction is always my goal, and I am more than happy to discuss any and all concerns, questions, thoughts etc so that my clients know what's happening and when, and can make informed decisions regarding their projects. I would definitely recommend using Nick! He did a great job installing some glides to make my pull-out shelves sturdier so they can hold up to 100 pounds. That will solve some of my storage problems and hep to reduce some countertop clutter. He's coming back today to install a new screen on my balcony door, and is helping me with a problem with my kitchen faucet. I really appreciated that Nick was E-mailing me several times before getting here yesterday to let me know he was on his way. He was very professional and helpful and just a really nice guy. I plan to use him again in the future and will tell my family and friends that he's definitely worth having to do any work for them!

Nick is partway through a fencing project for us right now, and so far the work he has done has been great! We have several different types of fencing needs—gate rehanging/resetting, retaining wall repair, wood fence straightening, and adding a new fence section—and Nick is helping with all of it.

Nick both repaired a damaged fence and built a new fence for us. He was super easy to work with and a creative problem solver. He does great work came back to double check something I didn’t even know was an issue and made it even better. You can tell he takes pride in his work. We have hired him for other jobs since then and we have been happy with his communication and work ethic. Highly recommend!

I hired Nick to change two exterior door thresholds, put up some interior trim around one door, and put up two shelves in my bathroom. On my estimate he was charging $35 for fasteners.. meaning nails, screws, etc… (he basically had a bucket of rusty mismatched nails/screws)One of the thresholds I’m happy with, except for the fact he used both screws and nails on the door sill… one of the thresholds he “misunderstood “ and didn’t complete, (only changed half of it) although that took three hours… the interior trim he used three inch drywall screws to fasten it to the wall instead of finishing nails.. not only did he use screws, he used three different types of screws and never drilled screw holes, so the screws were sticking out of the wood, so I couldn’t even fill them In and sand over them.. they were also stripped, so It was really difficult to remove them… he also glued the trim to the wall??? Now I can’t take the trim off with out replacing the drywall underneath! I had to remove all the screws in the trim fill in holes and sand them… he never got to the shelves! I reached out to Nick right after he left to express my disappointment.. he never responded…it seems like just another guy who bought tools during the pandemic and called themselves a handyman… I’ve run into quite a few on this site! I think I’ve finally learned my lesson!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
This is no get rich quick scheme, I assure you. any job where all involved can walk away feeling satisfied that the cost is commensurate with the final result is a success in my book. all of my clients are allowed ample info opportunity to ask questions and discuss any element of the cost of their job. I also recognized that these projects can get expensive, and that many of my clients have families or live on limited income. It is always my pledge to do what I can to keep costs down as best I can, and to work closely with my clients to find solutions, such as payment plans. I make my money by earning your trust and respect. securing repeat business and recommendations to others.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
typically, new customers will give me a ring and, after introductions, explain the work that they are looking to have done. Alaska if you clarifying or follow up questions, and then ideally schedule a time for me to come and see the project area first hand. I am hopefully able to meet the client and have them literally walk me around the area has they lay out their vision for the work . again, I'll ask whatever additional questions I have, then take measurements as needed and photograph the area, taking careful note of anything I noticed that could be an issue in the future. that process gives me enough info to create an estimate, which is sent to the potential client for them to review and either approve or discuss further with me. I can't say I've had an instance where a customer in myself have failed to reach some agreement that we can both sign off on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a little less than 10 years worth of fencing experience under my belt, and probably a little more than that in carpentry. I've learned from many of the folks that I've worked with in the past. I also have several years of landscape experience, and some light electrical and plumbing. it's probably not relevant, but I have several years experience with forklifts and flatbed delivery trucks.
