About
I hold a doctoral degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Minnesota (USA). I am a passionate educator with over 10 years of university-level teaching experience. My college-level guitar textbook is currently used by Duke University and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (USA). My students have won numerous first prizes at international competitions and have recorded performances for leading online classical guitar platforms, including Siccas Guitars.
I offer in-person and online CLASSICAL GUITAR lessons. Although I implement the classical guitar approach in my teaching, all my students learn how to play a variety of popular styles.
I have won numerous prizes at classical guitar competitions, including First Prize at the 2018 Hong Kong Altamira International Guitar Competition. As a performer, educator, and researcher, I have presented concerts, masterclasses, and lectures throughout Australia, China, Europe, and North and Latin America. Two of my original research papers have been published in the Guitar Foundation of America's Soundboard journal.
Since 2024, I started investing most of my time into composing classical music and creating educational materials. My time for teaching students is limited, and I prefer to keep only the most devoted ones. If you would like to get in touch, contact me to check the available time slots.
I am looking forward to connecting!

Moma is absolutely amazing. He goes above and beyond to make sure my son learns the proper way. He’s definitely all about the music and I’m very grateful to have him teaching my son to play guitar. He’s also a very nice and cool person 🤘🏻

Moma is a great teacher. He was very observant of my skills and progress and managed to tune the lessons according to my level and abilities. Learning how to play the guitar was a breeze with him. I enjoyed the classes and did not feel that it was difficult. I made a lot of progress with him. Thank you Moma!

It was my dream to learn how to play guitar, but it seemed that I couldn't find the right instructor. After a few failed attempts, I was close to giving up.
But then my friend told me about Moma, who taught his cousin how to play. And we clicked from the very first class. We've been working for about 2 years now, and I've never missed a class ever since then.
You should see my fingers now, flying over the fretboard and strings. Give this guy a chance and you'll be happy you did it.

My experience with Moma was delightful! He is a professional and pushed me to practice. He is funny and relaxed but takes your progress seriously. I couldn’t recommend him enough!

One thing I like the most about classes with Moma is his readiness to adjust the lesson flow to my needs and make it most efficient. I highly recommend Moma as your teacher.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer only 60-min lessons, because this is the best way to learn the classical guitar. We can meet online via Zoom, or you can come to my place in South Uptown Minneapolis. I travel to your place only if we agree on meeting 4 times a month.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first ask my students about specific reasons for taking classical guitar lessons and the amount of time that they can invest into weekly practicing. The next step is to come up with repertoire pieces, technical exercises, as well as theoretical and historical knowledge necessary for their best development.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Doctoral degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
