Sara has spent thousands of hours developing youth talent, and her curriculum is utilized at leadership programs across the nation. Sara is currently working on her masters degree at Harvard University, building off the decades of work she has devoted to working at the crossroads of media and technology. In the mid '90s, Sara moved to New York City to work on projects for Nickelodeon, MTV’s Rock the Vote Campaign, VH1’s Save the Music Foundation, and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington Competition. In 1999, Sara left MTV Networks for the chance to participate in a joint effort between The Knot and NBC's Today Show called "Today Ties the Knot"— a series which married on-air programming with on-line voting and set the stage for the new era of media interactivity that we are all used to today. Sara released her first full-length album of original music at the age of 20, and while she prefers to work behind the scenes, she has also enjoyed some time in the spotlight. Sara has shared the stage with jazz legends Wynton Marsalis, Janis Siegel, Bobby McFerrin, and Dianne Reeves. She made her NYC cabaret debut in 1998 and continued as a solo artist for many years. Sara enjoyed her time as a performer with Juilliard Choral Union, and even had her share of the red carpet treatment while assisting with production on major award shows including the Grammy Awards™ and MTV’s Video Music Awards. After a successful stint on the East Coast, Sara returned to the Twin Cities to serve as director of programming for NBC’s online coverage of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. She then progressed to managing daily website operations for clients including CNN, NBC, Cox Television, Hearst-Argyle Television, McGraw-Hill Broadcasting, Meredith Broadcasting and Post-Newsweek. Now a full-time speaker, producer, author, and educator – Sara is sharing her business lessons with her favorite people: today's student leaders.
