FAQs
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It really makes a difference who your teacher is and what their qualifications are. This is a profession that anyone can claim to have (there isn't any licensing or training required to claim that you can teach, or to join the Music Teachers Association). You need a teacher who can really get you started with the right physical approach to the piano. Like other precision athletic activities (think golf or tennis for example) it is much easier to get started with good form and technique, than it is to fix it later. Bad habits are very easy to get into and can plague one's playing forever, or simply cause students to quit, because they aren't getting the results they want, it is tedious to learn new music, the music they really want to play is beyond their capabilities. I have the qualifications and knowledge to get students started right.
