FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically charge an hourly rate. There is a multitude of variables in developing a site, so after consultation, I can provide an estimate of total cost, and will fully disclose and discuss any modifications to the estimate as the project progresses. On average, the cost to develop a new website starts around $1,000 and can go up from there.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin with an initial consultation to discuss the purpose, scope and expectations of the project. I encourage prospective customers to peruse my site to check out examples of my work. Once the project in underway, the next phase is truly collaborative, during which clients are encouraged to provide feedback. Changes are an integral part of the process of web development, and customer input allows for a final result that is exactly what they want. Sites will also require testing to ensure that everything looks correct and that all links and navigation function properly, which is a crucial part of the process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My BA in Art is foundational for all of my creative endeavors, but I consider my education to be continuous and evolving, in keeping with the pace and growth of the digital world. I remain a curious and avid learner, so that I may put new technologies to use for the maximum benefit of my clients.
