I am happy to be paired with Shulamit - she is a gifted musician and even after a few lessons I have been aware of how I can play better. She is a good listener and is really helping me re-learn the musicality of playing piano music.
Mike is an excellent teacher with incredible skills and knowledge of many genres of music. Before taking lessons with Mike, I was only learning guitar by learning simple metal songs with my old guitar teacher. When I started taking lessons with Mike, my guitar playing improved exponentially. Mike helps you reach your goals through a variety of methods like exercises and the underlying music theory to introduce the material, followed up by applications of the material seen in real music you listen to. Mike has also helped me be more open-minded about other good genres of music like the blues, jazz, and classical, which has also helped me to become a more well-rounded player. Overall, Mike is a great guitarist, musician, and teacher who can help you get as far as you want to go as a guitar player.
WOW!! EVERYONE KEEPS COMPLIMENTING OUR BAND!!! We checked out every band in town and these guys were head and shoulders above the rest!!! The Dap Squad is THE BEST live band we've heard and we checked them ALL out!! We saw these guys in Iowa at a stranger's wedding (by accident) and we said then if we ever got married, this WOULD be the band. As luck turns out they were actually from Minnesota. We went with the full 10 piece because we are only doing this once and wanted the to make a splash. Wow, I just can't say enough. They KILLED Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Prince, etc.. My sister turned to me at the end and said if she ever gets married they will hire this band... I'm just waiting because I already know. ;-) This band is magic!!!
Very natural and helpful teacher. Her vast knowledge and experience helped me develop as a musician. She took pride in my growth through her individual approach. I highly recommend learning from her no matter if you are an amateur or a professional.
I have listened to, been in production with, and performed with Greg several times for over 10 years. He has played, written, scored, transposed, adapted, and collaborated to create exactly what was needed for each event, show, and gathering. As a pianist and guitarist he seems a bottomless well of ability and genre capability; he can rock Bon Jovi and then perform an Arvo Pärt piece that will bring you to tears. Pop, classical, jazz, funk, modern, quiet, loud, solo, ensemble, and more. Greg is talented, experienced, collaborative, and a pleasure to work with and to listen to.
Lauren is a fantastic trombonist and overall musician. She is talented, kind, and smart. It has always been a pleasure to rehearse and perform with her. She is dedicated to her students and continually works to improve her teaching skills. I highly recommend Lauren as a trombonist and an educator!
Reuben Correa has played for us several times at events at the Woman's Club of Minneapolis. He is an accomplished harpist with a large repertoire of music. Reuben has been a consummate professional in his dealings with us. He is a popular musician that members want to have back. I would highly recommend him.
I’m 27 and have never done anything musical before. I’m taking songwriting and piano lessons with Curtis. He is really good at tailoring my lessons to what I want to be doing and motivating me to keep writing and practicing. This is something I’ve thought about doing for years and it feels incredible to actually be doing it finally! He’s an awesome teacher and a great guy! Would highly recommend! 👍👍
Mary was organized and punctual in the planning process which made our wedding day go so smoothly. I don't want to forget to mention the lovely job the quartet did with the music! Thank you :)
To use an acronym to describe Les Izmoore, I would say WTF! (Wonderfully Talented Ferpormers!!!) These guys were Led Zeppelin before there was a dirigible. And who's more popular...J.C., or the Beatles??? Neither, it's Les Izmoore by a long shot. It ain't even close. While you may never hear Lez Izmore and Eye Candy in the same sentence, these guys are all exceptional musicians and amazing performers. Unlike bands I've been in...these guys start and end at the same time. Incredible, right? I've always wondered why I couldn't do that! If you want a great band, at a great price, that is better than you could have hoped for...these guys are it. At some point, they'll have to change their name to Moore Izmoore. Cheers music fans...these guys will make your day!
Juan is a fantastic music teacher! He takes the time needed to help a person at any skill level to grow and improve. Lessons are always fun and the time just flies by. When he demonstrates a particular song it is evident he is a skilled musician as well. I highly recommend him.
Worked with Musicians Unlimited for my daughters wedding. Everything was handled professional and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend
Wonderful group of musicians who are both highly professional and down to earth and approachable. Hire them for any event!
The Neighborhood Trio provided music for our foundation's gala fundraising event. They were the perfect fit. They were professional, flexible, and gifted. Their music was just the right background, not intrusive, but just enough to set a wonderful tone and atmosphere to our event. I would highly recommend them.
We were going to hire megan to play at our wedding September 10th, but we just had the reception dj do the ceremony music. But megan has an awesome voice and is a wonderfully talented musician. I would recommend her to play any event.
Rita Sapp is a fabulous musician. I have the privilege of working with her on an ongoing basis and I am constantly amazed by her wonderful talents. I give Rita my highest recommendation.
It is has very unique message and energy that is very uplifting. Opening my heart, helps others open their hearts. In this space, miracles can happen.
Making people smile.
I play in two different settings and styles. The first ........is my acoustic based solo or small group music. This is a cross between jazz and rock and world music.....but I like to use familiar songs and play acoustic based versions with jazzy twist and some world influences as well. I use a lot of different guitar textures, from 12 string to 6 string to mandolin. I also perform both instrumental and vocal based shows based on the event/club need. My instrumental music has been heard nationwide, for example, it was used at the smooth jazzy background on The Weather Channel and other Film/TV placements. Check out my album T.C. Ortberg The Ninth Tide, or T.C. Ortberg, Hot Jupiters for some of the instrumental selections. The latest album, T.C. Ortberg, Half Finished Novel, has vocals. I often will add the amazing Kenni Holmen on sax, who is also part of the The Hornheads (Prince's horn section) to my shows for an acoustic plus sax vibe. I like to see people's faces when that certain song hits them that they love. Seeing everyone's face light up or they start to move when it starts is really great, I like being the facilitator of making people happy like that. Im always interested in adapting the music to exactly match the intent and flow of the event, whether that be mellow in the background, or upbeat popular tunes.
I am a talented musician and soloist. I play piano and guitar, and I sing along with the songs that I play. I have sang and played for several weddings throughout the twin cities, and I am able to figure out how to play anything. My rates are reasonable, and you won't have to pay extra for a separate pianist or soloist. I can do it all.
I love playing music. I am very passionate about it. It soothes and fills my soul. I've been playing music since 2009. I held down and still doing so at my Tuesday night location in downtown Minneapolis.
