Introduction: I do everything I can to make learning an instrument about what YOU want to know! It’s important to me that you learn the things that you are interested in. I love teaching people how to play music! I love it when you give someone an idea, and they run with it. It’s amazing to see students progress and get better over time. The steady progress that I have made with my own guitar playing, through years of learning and teaching has helped me to see the world in a different way. Learning to play guitar should be fun, and anyone can do it!!!

Guitar Lessons

Kenny is a very talented guitar player! By the end of our first session we were jamming together, even though I was very nervous about being able to. He's a lot of fun and brings great ideas and suggestions. Definitely recommended.

Kenny is very friendly and explains concepts in ways that are easy for beginners to understand. Would recommend to anyone looking to pick up guitar or just build on what they already know.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I’ll work with you. Depending on who’s driving and how far, and what you’re able pay, prices are negotiable. However, I generally drive to students, and my standard rate is $30 for a 1 hour lesson. One hour lesson a week is normally more than enough for most students. I can also do half hour lessons, but generally with driving time it makes more sense to do an hour. Depending on how much material you want to practice and get through during the average week, we’ll figure out a rate and time that works for you.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first thing I’d have you do, is create a list of 10 songs and/or artists that inspire you. Then, during our first lesson, among other things, I’d talk to you about your musical experience, your goals, and what you want to learn. There are some things that are good for everyone to learn, but especially when students are first starting out, I’ve found it’s very important to focus on the things that they are interested in and want to learn.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have about 12 years of experience playing guitar, and have taken hundreds of private lessons for several different instruments over the years. I’ve been getting a bit more serious about teaching over the last year or two, gradually moving from helping friends from time to time, to more structured lessons with other people.
