PianoWithChad offers serious skill building learned in a spirit of fun, modern music, and the wealth of music history. It's time to start PianowithChad! I offer full piano program features for ages five to adult. I teach 30, 45, or 60-minute weekly one-on-one lessons at Keys 4/4, conveniently located on Soutwest Blvd in the vibrant Crossroads Arts District, OR in the convenience of your own home, saving you and your family precious time! My approach combines piano teaching, mentoring, and coaching. There will be more performance opportunities (optional for adults) every semester, fall and spring. We perform our music audiences in a variety of venues. Young Pianists learn the value of giving to others by performing in our community service piano recitals. Adult Students participate as they choose. We invite those important to us to celebrate our accomplishments at our formal Family and Friends' Piano Recital in a performance hall or informally in the more intimate and social environment of a one of our Piano Families' homes. For sheet music delivery, you don't have to add the music store to your list of errands to run, nor wonder if you are picking up the correct books that you need at the level of challenge you need. While the cost of books are not included in tuition, you receive the right sheet music at the right level delivered at the right time to your lesson. For Practice Goals, I designed these weekly sheets to show students and parents exactly what, how, and how long to practice, and even how well they're doing. Practice Goals are specific, like targets to aim at, and give students purpose to their practice. Skill building plans are as follows: * Repertoire All my students develop their musicianship by expanding their repertoire, discovering genres of piano literature new to them. From their 1st performance piece, students begin building their own Repertoire Portfolio. Our RPs are invaluable! We believe in music as a lifestyle, so we use them to share our music everywhere we go! On pianos around town, parties in our homes, in our friends' homes, at Church, school, and on and on. * Sight-reading Students get to play a lot more of the music that they want and choose to play. Learning this skill will build students' confidence and win them a quick sense of gratification at the piano, resulting in a more enjoyable piano experience. * Music reading Students learn to recognize the names of notes and their places on the lines and spaces of both the Treble and Bass clefs - an essential skill for participation in Choir, Band, other instruments, Song-writing, etc. Building this skill in Piano Lessons prepares them for success in reading sheet music for any other instrument, including vocal music! * Piano Technique Students learn what to do with the coordination of their fingers, hands, arms, and an at-rest body posture in order to achieve those captivating sounds from their instrument. * Music theory Students not only learn the what to do of Piano Technique, but also the why of understanding how music works and why music sounds so good to our ears.
