How did you get started doing this type of work?
I tried my hand at a few different trades before sticking to flooring. I was a plumber for 2 years, couldn't get over the smell. I was a Glaser for 3 years, couldn't get over heights. Carpentry fit about a year or so, my employer was "flakey".
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
a flooring contractor. Ask as many questions as you can think of. Just like the saying goes "three are no stupid questions, just stupid answers.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
The "what if's": the customer and contractor really need to be on the same page about what can possible need to be addressed once the original floor is demoed i.e. subfloor replacement, patch work/concrete or wood, baseboard removal and replacement, doors needing to be cut, transitions.
