FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a formula that I use to calculate a quote based on type of shoot, how detailed and involved it needs to be, whether or not special permits for parks will be needed, and the distance I will have to travel as well as the length of the shoot. I do require a retainer of 35% of the total quote to be paid before I can consider the session booked into my calendar. I also offer payment options and plans for weddings and baby's first year packages and birthing sessions. Unfortunately I no longer offer CD / DVD Services due to compatibility issues, but I do offer digital downloads with print releases, as well as standard print services and packages.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Whether I'm working with new clients or clients I've been working with for a long time, everything starts with good communications. With new clients, I like to meet them in person at least a few days before the session so that both of us can feel comfortable and can discuss exactly what they're looking for in their portraits. I also bring a session agreement to the meeting that both of us sign. All of my shoots require a session agreement which outlines exactly what services and products will be provided.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do. I read everything I can get my hands on, I practice and practice editing and using different filters and actions. I watch every youtube video I can find and if I see something I want to try, I do it.
