Currently a contributor for ONCOURSE and ONCOURSE Online (oncourse.ag.org), a print and online publication for tweens and teens, I have been writing and editing professionally since 2000. Years of targeting today's digital-media-oriented, technology-driven and Internet-savvy readers has allowed me to hone my skills of putting messages into reader-friendly packages. Experienced in drawing perspectives from others, I have interviewed and written about several notable personalities, including a politician, an actor, a number of music artists and others, acting as a ghostwriter for a few. My writing, which has been featured in print and online media outlets, has included blurbs, teasers, reviews, short articles and long features.
As an editor, I have applied structural (punctuation, grammar and usage) and content copy editing techniques to hundreds of print and online articles, following AP style and the specific style guidelines of each publication. My goal when editing each article has been to proofread, condense and polish as necessary, to meet the editorial needs of the publication while maintaining the writer's voice as much as possible.
