- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am the owner of a gym and martial arts dojo. I have a B.S. from Jackson State University. I am also a Certified Football coach. Certified Personal Trainer and group Fitness instructor. Certified Martial Arts Instructor. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Sports Science with a concentration in strength and conditioning.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up training martial arts in California which is my first love. When my family relocated to Mississippi in my early days the only sport that I could be aggressive in was football. I excelled in that sport. Then my football career ended due to injury, so I decided to transfer my passion to training football players. Then I got an opportunity to train basketball players as a strength and conditioning coach for Jackson State University’s men’s basketball team while working as the Coordinator of fitness and wellness and assistant director at The Walter Payton Center at JSU. I became proficient in helping people lose weight, body builders get on stage, and sports specific training in all sports. I love everything about fitness
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
hire a full time trainer. Not one that is moonlighting as one
