I have taught music professionally for 25 years, teaching hundreds of students guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, piano, drums, and voice. I teach "In Person" lessons in and around Asheville NC, as well as students across the country via "Online Lessons" since 2012. My passion has always been to impart to my students a love and appreciation for all styles and genres of music. One of my students went on to play on the world's largest stages with Katy Perry, while others went on to University and are now professional musicians and teachers themselves. I have only had two lessons so far but will keep working with Paul for as long as I take lessons. He is excellent at tailoring the lesson to the student. He is kind and teaches in a very gentle way. He is a very skilled player and teacher. I’m so happy I found Paul on here!

I've been wanting to learn guitar for several years and tried lessons with other places ,but I never was able to catch on. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The first lesson is ALWAYS FREE!!! There is no pressure to sign up and the customer can take their time to let me know if I feel like a good fit for their needs. If you do decide to take lessons, tuition is a flat rate of $140 p/month for 4 half hour lessons, or $280 p/month for 4 hour lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we have made contact I usually offer a free phone consultation (or email) in which I ask the potential student what their goals are for lessons and what styles and genres are they interested in learning. From there if we both feel that it might work, we schedule a Free 45 minute Trial Lesson at a time convenient to both the student and myself.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught professionally for 23 years in Toronto, Birmingham, Washington D.C. and Asheville. I have taught 100's of students, some of which have gone on to great things such as one who became Katy Perry's guitarist. I toured and recorded with recording artist Liona Boyd and Johannes Linstead. I have performed at 100's of shows from concerts, television, radio, weddings, receptions, corporate events, and private functions.
