FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My Thumbtack prices are set as transparent starting rates so you know what to expect. Every session includes my time on location, professional editing, and an online gallery with high resolution downloads. Most portrait sessions fall in the 225 to 425 range depending on the type of shoot, location, and length of time. Engagements, maternity, seniors, and lifestyle newborn sessions are typically 350 to 425. Boudoir and more custom sessions start around 300. Local travel around Asheville is included. For longer drives, I add a small travel fee based on distance, which I always share up front. If you tell me your budget and what you have in mind, I can usually recommend an option that fits without any surprises.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Photoshoot Sessions Steps 1. Pre-Photoshoot: We will discuss and agree on the photoshoot details, including the location and price. 2. Deposit and Payment: A $100 deposit is required to secure the photoshoot date, which will be deducted from the total amount discussed. The remaining balance is due after the photoshoot. Accepted payment methods: [Thumbtack, Venmo or Zelle] 3. Photoshoot: We will meet at the agreed-upon location and time on the scheduled date. 4. Photoshoot Approach: My photoshoots are focused on capturing the perfect shots, and we will take the necessary time to ensure your satisfaction. We won’t stop until we are both happy. 5. Post-Photoshoot: After the photoshoot, I will edit the photos, which may take up to a week, although I often deliver sooner. 6. Delivery: Once edited, I will create a website for you to access, share, and download your photos. You’ll receive a text with the link and password to access your photos. You can share the username and password with anyone you’d like to grant access to your photos. 7. Your Photos: You will find two folders: Socialmedia (optimized for sharing on social media and text) and Printphotos (high-resolution photos suitable for printing).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been photographing people and places for years and opened my photography business in 2020. Most of my work has grown from real client referrals, travel and landscape photography, and on-location sessions in changing light and environments. That experience helps me work quickly, read the light, adjust to the weather, and keep people comfortable in front of the camera.
