I’ve been a data analyst for over 25 years and love working with MS Excel. In the office, when people have a question about doing something in MS Excel, most of them would come to me. During one of my assignments I was responsible for downloading data from the database, importing the data into MS Excel, creating 32 weekly reports for various peers and executives. When it was time to create the month-end reports, there were over 50 reports that had to be created. Most of the work was repetitive, so I taught myself how to write VBA and created macros that not only saved me 15+ hours per week, but also reduced the chance of error. Not only have I taught MS Excel to my peers, I’ve also been involved in system implementations, data conversion projects, data automation, and teaching users new systems in a classroom setting.
