I finally broke down and called in a professional. The drain pipe for my washer was clogged. After 25 years of living in the same house and having multiple dogs, I figured it must be the dog hairs that caused the clog. I tried 4 different drain openers and nothing worked. Chris came out and used the snake that all plumbers have. He dug and dug and finally pulled up part of the problem. Not dog hair but roots from the humongous trees that surround my house and property. I hadn’t even thought about tree roots. The culprit is at one end of my house and the washer is at the other end making its way in the crawl space beneath my house. The things you learn as a homeowner. He got what he could out of the drain and I can’t ask or expect more than that. Now I have to contemplate the cost of getting someone to go into my crawl space and dig up the old cracked PVC pipe and replace it with a new one. I appreciated his honesty and advice. I’ll definitely use him again as needed and would have no problem recommending him to others
