About
Firstly, "service" is the key word here. It is my goal to serve the customer and to have them happy with their investment. I specialize in residential and commercial window film and tinting. My clients usually have issues relating to the sun:
TOO MUCH HEAT,
GLARE,
FADING,
LACK OF PRIVACY,
and sometimes all four!
I help remedy these issues that can really deter the quality of life.
I am not an auto-tinter and that is a key difference!
I have the expertise, tools and ladders for residential and commercial applications, as well as a solid understanding how a house/building works. I know how the sun works in relation to someone's home or business.
I am very professional and have been in thousands of homes and businesses. With that being said, I also like to focus on one project per day. As the owner, I will personally be onsite at every consultation and every installation. In the end I give my personal guarantee that the work will be done expertly!
Meeting people in their homes or work spaces is a very stimulating and inspiring way to spend each day.
When I come to a family's home or a team's office space, they are very happy to see me: I am going to solve a problem for them.
At the end of the day I made a difference in someone's life, and the results are immediate!

Josh did a great job for us. Once agreed on the quote, it was on time and a very quality work. He has a good knowledge on the type of tint and the usage. The one he installed is great in preventing sun and gives nice privacy. I strongly recommend Josh for any tint related work.

Oanh,
I am happy you are happy with the end result. High windows and skylights aren't the easiest installation but they were done with expertise and great care. Appreciate you!

Josh did a great job installing our window films and did so at a fair price. The installation process was very smooth and he showed up exactly on time. The process took about two hours to install film on five French door windows. We haven't had any issues with bubbling.
We went with the 25 VLT Suntek DRDS on three of the windows and 35 VLT on the other two. They all came out a bit darker than expected and I now wish I had gone with a lighter tint. They have done their job with reducing the heat gain in the house but we now miss the natural light we once had. There is also a small amount of interior reflection which makes it difficult to see out at night.
Solar Authority Window Film - CHARLOTTE, NC's reply
Niklas,
Thank you for the great review! Although you are happy with the installation, I was sorry to hear it turned out darker than you expected.
I fully explain all the information and expectations before I install the film. I show samples that visually allows the customer to see how dark the tint will be. However, sometimes it can be hard to imagine the complete outcome until its installed.
Please, let me know if you want to take me up on my offer to replace with a lighter shade of tint. However, seeing as many months have passed, I am guessing you have adjusted to the amount of light and are now happy with the end result.
Thank you!

Josh, was professional and on time. He helped my wife and I pick the windowtint that best suited our need of preventing the direct sun from overheating our foyer. He fully explained his products and gave us all the information necessary to fill out the manufacturer's warranty for the window treatment product we selected. His install was top notch. He was very considerate not to damage any walls or other furnishing with his ladders and scaffolding. We highly recommend Josh and Solar Authority Window Film for your residential window treatment needs.
Solar Authority Window Film - CHARLOTTE, NC's reply
Keith and his wonderful family were a pleasure to help out. Their foyer was very sunny but also very hot and glare-ridden from the high arch. Since arches and other odd-shaped glass are difficult and expensive to cover with traditional window treatments, I am happy to be able to solve an issue easily and inexpensively.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge based on square footage. When I measure the glass to be filmed, I come up with a total square footage amount and inform the customer.
I usually don't charge extra for ladders, but will charge extra if a scaffold or lift is required. I would have to rent those, thus extra expense.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet with a new customer, be it at their residence or work space, I first get to know who they are and what their concerns are.
With my products (window film/tinting), there is a range of: heat reduction levels, visible light transmission levels (VLT or how dark the tint is), the amount of metals or ceramics in the film...many different factors. As each person is different and has different needs, I need to know what exactly the customer wants from the performance of the film down to the aesthetics (how the film will look once applied).
I have to measure the glass in person and get the scope of the project. Knowing what ladders are needed, an idea how long the project will take and the amount of materials to purchase are all crucial to get the job done right the first time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spent five years with a company that specializes in residential/commercial window film installation. I was the lead salesman as well as the head of installation by the time I left to pursue my own business.
A lot of on the job training as well as seminars and classes has well equipped me to tackle any type of project from solar control (heat, glare, uv), safety and security, to decorative and privacy.
