FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer transparent pricing. Our jobs start at $3/Watt with clear pricing for add-ons. 85% of our jobs require no additional fees or services, although customers may opt to add non-essential add-ons such as batteries, pergolas or EV chargers. We offer discounts of 2% for active duty or veteran military service personnel, teachers and first responders.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All of our appointments are virtual. This helps us keep costs low and offer below-market rate pricing of $3/Watt. The first call will be with one of our Solar Concierge team members. They will guide you through the process of going solar, answer any questions you may have and discuss various options with you. They'll take note of your goals and consult with our design team to get you the best options available for your solar system. If you are considering financing the system, they'll take your personal information in a secured manner so we can determine the best options available to you. This will not affect your credit. Please note, we ask that have your utility bill available at the time of the consultation. This is required when the Design Team begins drafting your system. Conversations are more informative if you have that information readily available for your Solar Concierge, although, it is not required at the time of the consultation. Once the designs are back, you'll be able to pick from a few options or request a change. Your Solar Concierge will be able to advise you, if you would like, as to which option best suits your needs and desires. From there, they will walk you through the various financing options that are afforded to you. Once you've made your decision, a DocuSign will be sent to you to finalize details. From there, we will have a Site Auditor at your home within 3 business days to assess your project. Once complete, we move to the permitting phase. Here our office staff will ensure all permits are applied for and any HOA requirements are met. Someone from our Scheduling Team will reach out to put a tentative date for installation on the calendar. We say tentative because permitting times vary, but based on our data of how long permitting takes in each municipality, we'll have a pretty good idea of when we expect to receive permission to install. If it looks like we need to reschedule (happens less than 5% of the time), you'll receive a call at least a week in advance. Once the permits are granted, we'll have one of our installation teams on the schedule day. Most likely, they will arrive in the morning around 8am and finish that same day. In some circumstances, installations may take longer, of which you will be advised at the time of scheduling to allot for 2 or more days of work at your home. Finally, after the system is installed, an inspector(s) will come out and review the work. Typically, a municipality will have an inspector on site within a week, but this varies by jurisdiction. Sometimes the utility company will also want to inspect. The utility company will have to come out and swap your current meter for a bi-directional meter. Most guarantee a swap within 14 days. In 99% of cases, we can have all the inspections completed, approvals granted and a meter swapped within 3 weeks time. Once the meter has been swapped, a technician will come by your home and turn the system on. You will be notified of this, but it is not required you be home. Sometimes, the utility will actually do this for you. You are now producing power. You will now be able to see the production of your panels and entire system up to the minute on your smartphone app or computer. If you have any questions or concerns, our Service Department is available to address your concerns quickly. A typical installation, from signed contract to operation of your system is between 60 and 90 days, depending on a variety of factors, many of which are out of our control (ie: permitting, HOA, inspection, etc.).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have our General Contractors and Electrical Contractors licenses. All of our electricians and installers have been trained and are constantly reviewed by our management team. We have cumulatively over 100 years of experience in solar.
