- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stared DJing at an early age and was one of the first mobile DJs in the area. I learned from experience. I also learned sound engineering while playing and working with a band in the early 80s. I also have a degree in Radio/TV broadcasting and worked for several radio stations full time while DJing on the weekends until I left radio in 1996 to run my DJ business full time. I continue to work part time in radio. I have learned from experience, broadcasting and from other professional DJ that i associate with over the years to improve my skills and performance. I am a founding member of the Triangle DJ Association and a member of The Association of Beach and Shag Club DJs. I've been awarded DJ of the year on several occasions as well as other local and national awards for my work and performances. My passion for music, DJing, being an MC and entertaining has pushed me to strive to be the best I can be and provide an entertaining and professional service for any occasion.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I stared DJing parties in 1978 when I was 13 years old. In High School I stared working as a musician and sound engineer for a local band that toured all over the east coast. I learned a lot about sound and equipment at an early age. I stared working for a radio station in 1984 and went to college to major in Radio/TV Broadcasting while continuing to DJ on the weekends. I worked full time in radio at several station in NC and Virginia until 1996 when I left to run my DJ business on a full time basis. I continue to work part time in radio and TV and also do voice over work from my studio. I also offer videography and editing as well. 2017 is my 39th year DJing and I love what I do and have no plans to ever quit.
