I began my martial arts training in 2001 with Sifu Bob after training in boxing for the previous 6 years and earned my first degree from him before his move down to the Phoenix, AZ area. I still attend any and every training session that I can when he comes to visit the area.It's always an amazing learning experience and I come away with so much more than I can ever document - which is why I am ALWAYS looking forward to his return visits. His forms having amazing flow and precision. His self defense techniques are effortless - as they should be with our system and he is able to articulate this in such a manner that I can wrap my mind around it (I'm of Irish heritage - that's no easy task!). I am a martial arts business owner who has a location in Sanford, NC. I began my journey in martial arts in 1986. During my childhood, I had the opportunity to begin my training in karate. For 7 years, I trained in this style and earned my black belt at the age of 16. I began training in TaeKwonDo in 1993 under the organization United States TaeKwonDo Alliance (USTA), which then became the International TaeKwonDo Alliance (ITA), and is today Tiger-Rock Martial Arts International (TRMAI). I earned my black belt in TaeKwonDo in 1994 and began instructing at that time. With perseverance and hard work I gained the confidence to become a better instructor and, at the same time, saw my TaeKwonDo skills progress. I was honored with top 10 national tournament rankings for 3 years in a row. For the past 25 years, I have seen the martial arts evolve while the core values of the art remain the same. Teaching, to me, is rewarding. I am able to give back what has been passed down to me. Our community is a great place to live. I have been a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor for more than 15 years. Some of my specialties are TRX, boxing on the bag, boot camp/circuit training, weight training, and triathlon training.
