Pastor Derek was everything my husband and I had hoped for in the minister who would marry us. My husband and I had both moved to Wilmington and wanted to have a small, simple ceremony focused on God and the covenant we wanted to make in the eyes of God. We were very intentional in trying to keep the language of our ceremony as biblically based as possible. We had several questions and Pastor Derek was able to answer them all, listen to longing for Christ to be center in our marriage and help bridge gaps in our understanding with love and patience. Derek arrived on time, prayed with us and held the perfect ceremony we had envisioned. All with about 3 weeks notice! We feel so blessed to have found Pastor Derek!

Pre-marital counseling with Pastor Derek was the best decision we made. It gave us tools for marriage and also gave us time during the busy planning to recalibrate and focus on what marriage is truly about. Having him as our counselor and then to have him officiating the ceremony, made it so special. He is sincere, funny, not pushy and has great advice. My husband immediately felt comfortable around him, like we had known him for years. It made standing at the alter in front of everyone less nerve wracking. His words at the ceremony were beautiful and I think of them often, they are printed in my office and I find myself retreading them.
Our plans changed a million time and he was very easy to work with.

It was our Pleasure to have Pastor Derek join us for our small Wedding we had back in October 2020; We we're very thankful with his kindness and Wisdom with Marriage experience. We we're also happy that Pastor Derek had known us from attending the Garner Campus of New Hope Church. We appreciated greatly the Pre Marriage course for it got us ready for what was ahead of Me and my Wife's beautiful journey together. During the Ceremony I could tell Pastor Derek had a lot of experience with leading the Ceremony, it was beautiful from beginning to end! At out Ceremony we wanted a little more Spiritual connection incorporating Holy Communion as our first act as a Married couple; Me and my Wife definitely felt the Lords presence with us there. I vouch for Pastor Derek for the confidence and experience he has in Wedding Ceremonies and Life advice.

Working with Pastor Derek Mull was a great experience! His marriage counseling wasn’t as scary as it sounds & he has done great tips. One thing I found incredible was the fact that not only did he marry Tyler & I but he had also married Tyler’s mom & my dad so it was pretty cool that he got to marry the kids! He is great, easy to work with, & all around a genuine person.

Thanks Breanna! It’s very rare to officiate a wedding for a couple whom I’ve also officiated the ceremonies for one of the groom’s parents as well as one of the bride’s parents. Made this one even more special.

Pastor Derek officiated our wedding in 2015. He directed the ceremony in a way that honored and proclaimed God as the center of our marriage and added moments of humor to engage the crowd and ease any nerves my groom and I may have been feeling. Would strongly recommend Derek.
