- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have CUT my prices for 2023 - these packages have never been so affordable. Thumbtack charges photographers for each client who reaches out, whether or not we are booked: We make this back with a small fee to cover what we spend on leads who do book. Average Thumbtack fees are $25-60, depending on the package chosen. There are no other fees unless your venue is more than 50 miles from Greensboro, NC. Travel is $1 per mile both ways, minus the first 50 miles from Greensboro in both directions (i.e. minus 100 miles). DO NOT trust photographers, especially "destination/traveling photographers" who charge less than these prices - the lower their prices and the further they are from your venue, the less likely they are to show up on your wedding day, leaving you without your photos.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Aside from basic questions about pricing and availability, I don't consult with any clients until they've signed their contract and paid their retainer. You may contact me through Thumbtack, Facebook, Instagram, or my website to tell me exactly what you need and I will give you a quote from there. I do not offer free consultations before booking. All other details will be discussed after booking. You will receive a contract to be signed and returned before your date is confirmed. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I first started learning photography from photographers I worked with as a model to build their portfolios. I learned lighting techniques, angles, posing, facial expressions, and camera techniques that I expanded on when I purchased my own camera. I started shooting weddings with Tolman Media in 2020 as a second shooter until I was comfortable enough shooting weddings alone. I learned a great deal from their experienced lead photographers and I'm confident I will give you a great experience.
