FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each project is priced on a case-by-case basis and there is no particular price that can be quoted. The price depends on how long a meeting holds, whether it was previously scheduled or on-call basis, how quickly the client wants a written transcript, et cetera. We do our best to be as conservative as possible and still be able to provide professional services at a reasonable price. Our past and current clients feel that we are very fair in our pricing for the various projects we do. In regard to Notary Services, the costs would depend on how far I would have to travel to complete the project and the driving time involved. SPECIAL NOTE - ALL individuals who are signing a document MUST have valid photo ID.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out as a transcript typist in 1989 and became curious about how a deposition was actually handled. My boss at the time decided to train me to become a Court Reporter and after several years in that position, I started my own business.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We handle 16 different governmental meetings such as Zoning Commission, Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, et cetera for local government entities. We also cover depositions for attorneys all over the state and provide verbatim transcripts for hearings, personnel issues and special meetings. We have also been called upon at the "last minute" when other reporters did not show up for a deposition. The legal counsel and witnesses were very happy to be able to complete the deposition on that day, instead of having to reschedule to another time and another trip.
