FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is 40 dollars an hour for an individual lesson. Rates may vary depending on a students needs and if there is travel time involved. Nothing is set in stone so please do not hesitate to talk to me about your budget and I will try to work with you. I put a great deal of time and energy into preparing for each and every lesson prior to us sitting down together. My lessons are customized specifically to each student and his or her goals. The cost of my lesson planning is included in my hourly rate. I am a firm believer that a well planned out lesson is a successful lesson. You can trust that you are getting much more than just our one hour time together. My lessons include handouts and copies of everything we cover, as well as take home material. If a client would like to pre pay and schedule 5 sessions upfront, I am happy to offer a reduction in my hourly rate. I look forward to helping you achieve your English speaking and proficiency goals while also having fun doing it!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work with students one on one or in small group settings. I typically start the first trial session with an oral and written exercise. This helps me get to know a prospective client and assess his/her ESL level. I am also using this time to listen to pronunciation, grammar, intonation and fluency. During this first session we will discuss a students goals and objectives in detail. I spend a great deal of time lesson planning and I am always prepared! I make the lessons relevant to a persons life. In that way my lessons are fun and engaging. You can be confident that every minute of our time together will be used in a positive and constructive way. As I get to know each student/client better ( and this will take a few sessions), I can taylor a program specific to that client's needs. I build upon strengths, while identifying and working on areas that need improvement or causing difficulties. I know from experience that if a student is willing to work hard during the session and do the work that I assign as homework ( it's fun) they will absolutely make significant gains, feel more confident and get the results they are looking.
