I hired Martha for a 6 months. Her estimate was very high in the beginning & so I had to trim down 2 rooms, powder room & my patio that we barely used anyway. She used to put in all her effort & leave my house spotless & shinning in the first month. I also got her extra work by recommending & connecting her to my friends circle. But soon into her second month she started complaining about the amount we had fixed upon. She asked a lot for every little extra thing that she was asked to do. For example $15 for an untouched tiny little powder room that was under the stairs. I have 2 dogs at home & so I CANNOT wait for 2 weeks to clean my house. My house is always in order as we don’t have any kids and are a family of just 2, so the only thing that accumulates in 2 weeks time is a little dust, as I clean it very regularly myself. For example the kitchen which is always spotless at my house at anytime. But if there are a few dishes in the sink when she’s there, she does not even help in loading them in the dishwasher. She would rather leave the whole sink dirty & not even touch it. Eventually after 6 months I was tired of her constant nagging about increasing the pricing, I had to keep my foot down. And so we both decided it would be better if she discontinued her service. Finding the right maid these days is very difficult, the one who would stick to her pricing & provide quality cleaning!
