Introduction: Not everyone wants to invest in the time, effort and expense of hiring a full service interior designer. The Triangle is full of savvy homeowners who want to renovate or decorate their homes themselves--they just need a little direction to get started. I offer a 2 hour interior design consultation that gives clients a solid plan so they can proceed with confidence on their current project. Talking about interior paint colors, room layout, furnishings, lighting, etc., we explore their ideas and desires to create rooms that are beautiful, functional and easy to maintain. After our consultation, I send a digital Resource List that highlights some of my ideas and suggestions and offers recommendations of where to shop and who to call to get their project DONE (the happiest word in any project). I am so fortunate to do what I love and what I'm good at. I meet and work with wonderful people and am always so grateful to be invited into their homes to help make positive changes that will impact their lives in a positive way. Now that's a great job!

Anne DeCocco helped transform our tired, rarely-used living/dining room space into a gorgeous library/reading room retreat that we use and love every day. Anne made the process easy and fun. She knew just what to ask us, listened well to our responses, and translated that into a plan that was exactly what we wanted. She's incredibly creative and always had multiple interesting and unique ideas on how to approach every aspect of the work -- whether it was the overall design, fabrics and drapes, furniture, paint, lighting, color, or texture. Anne also believes details make a difference, and her focus on them elevated the resulting space from wonderful to amazing. We loved working with Anne, we love the results, and we look forward to working with her on more projects in the future. We cannot recommend Anne and DeCocco Design highly enough!

When Parkinson's disease left my husband unable to walk, we called in Anne DeCocco to help us make our master suite accessible -- and attractive. We began with a two-hour consultation. Anne listened to our needs and wants and gave us a plan for a room that would be easier for him to get around while using a wheelchair or a walker. Her ideas were practical, chic and attainable. Using her recommendations as a guide, we bought vintage pieces on eBay and replaced a dangerously high bed with a low-slung platform bed that was not only safer but also elegant. When the furniture was in place, we invited Anne back to help us dress the window. Our custom-made valance was just what we needed to put an exclamation point on the space. Anne is a pleasure to work with. She knows how to translate a client's haphazard vision into a cohesive and livable space. After we finished our accessible bedroom, she also supplied custom-designed window treatments and throw pillows for our great room. Next time we need interior design work, we know where to find the best. Anne DeCocco is a gem.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My 2 hour, in-home, interior design consultation costs $295 and includes a digital Resource List sent after our meeting. For more in-depth design work, I usually provide a flat fee.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When scheduling our meeting, I ask the client to come up with three words that describe the look or feeling they want when they're all done with the rooms I also ask them to show me a Houzz Ideabook, Pinterest board or magazine clippings of rooms that inspire them. A picture really is worth a thousand words.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelor's degree with a major in interior design and a minor in art and consistently update my education in the areas of design, business and technology.
