About
I'm Austin Shoaf — an electrical engineer by trade. Along the way, I kept seeing the same problem: neighbors and local realtors buried in the stress of closing-day junk, abandoned storage units, and heavy items that felt impossible to move alone.
I started The 919 Hauler to be the easy button for this community — a business that runs with the professionalism of a licensed LLC and the reliability of a local neighbor. Whether it's the logistics of a piano removal or helping a family finally reclaim their garage, I bring the same engineering mindset to every load: safe, efficient, and fairly priced.
When you call, you're not getting a random franchise. You're getting a local owner who cares about keeping our corner of North Carolina clean.

Austin, gets it done! I saw his signs for hauling service, gave him a call and with 24 hours picked everything up. Great service, nice guy.

I rarely leave Google reviews but would like to do so for Austin and his new small business. I worked with him recently and had a very positive experience. My family had some junk to throw away and some stuff to move around between our home and 2 storage units. The communication prior to his arrival was quick and detailed, and I very much appreciate him communicating with customers directly rather than routing us to an AI agent. This made me confident that I am working with a reliable real person who is on the same page with me. Austin and his coworker arrived on time, took care of this "highly customized task" professionally, and handled the delicate items carefully and efficiently. Our new storage unit looked to be on the small side in the first place, but Austin and his coworker figured it out and fit everything in very neatly. The final cost was negotiated based on what we had communicated in the beginning, which was very reasonable. I am very happy to leave this review to show our appreciation and support for Austin and his small business.

I contacted 919 hauler to help me clear out space in my garage after moving in to a new home. The entire experience was great. Austin replied promptly and he is an absolute gentleman. He worked quick and efficiently. I highly recommend hiring him if you need junkremoval, I know I absolutely will the next time I need haulers.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Quoted price is all-in: labor, haul, and dump. No trip fee inside my service area and no surprise add-ons after you approve the number. Minimum residential job is $120.
Mattresses, tires, paint, gasoline, and extra-heavy pieces may have a listed add-on — I’ll say that in the quote before we load anything. Send 3-4 photos and I’ll send one number. For large jobs, let's set up a free in-person quote.
I don’t lock a firm price off a vague description.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Text photos → I send an all-in quote → we pick a window (same-day or next-day when I have one) → I show up, load it, haul it, leave the space clear.
You get a confirmation and I text when I’m on the way. Pay when the job is done — card, cash, or invoice.
If the pile grew after the quote, tell me before I start and I’ll adjust the number in the driveway, not after.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This is hands-on work, not a classroom trade. I run The 919 Hauler locally, I’m insured, I know what Wake County will and won’t take at the dump, and I know when something needs a dump trailer instead of the truck. I recycle or donate when I can and landfill last.
