Howard was amazing to work with for our son's SAT. He was on time, had great communication but what was most amazing was his dedication to our son to be successful in his test taking.

Howard worked with my daughter on the ACT. She had taken the test two times and never been able to get above 22 composite. After 7 weeks, she took the test one last time and raise her score to a 26 composite. She was so happy. She’s a good student in school, but doesn’t test well in timed situations. We continued to work with Howard on college essays and applications. Our family is very happy with the results.

Howard has been an awesome tutor for our daughter. Since we use Zoom it is very easy to conduct the sessions at a time that works for both of us, and, of course, it can be any place. Howard's prices are great and cheaper than everyone else we contacted. He makes it very easy to schedule with him and to move the dates around if our daughter has an upcoming test or quiz. Howard has been assisting our daughter with Math and her scores have greatly improved! We are so grateful. Thank you Howard!

It was a lot of fun working with Howard. We worked really hard and made a lot of progress. Together, we challenged each other and I feel that we both improved because of it. He was supportive and always had faith in me and my abilities. With his help I was able to get my ACT score from a 30 up to a 35! He stayed in contact with me after I took the ACT and checked in and see how I felt about it, and he continued to help even after our tutoring sessions ended. I would absolutely recommend using Howard as a tutor!

Howard have been tutoring my two daughters so that they could increase there SAT/ACT scores. He slso tutors me in Pre-Cal Math and English Literature. He is an excellent tutor that knows the material he is teaching. He is always willing to go above and beyond. He makes sure we understands the material. I was surprised when after just 3 weeks working with my daughter, she was able to raise her SAT scores by 90 points. My daughter has an A in Math now all because of Howard. Myself was failing Math in College. I had a D in the class and now I have a B. My first test I got 46%, and after working with Howard within two weeks I got a 94% on my next test. I don’t know how he know these stuff. It just comes naturally to him. If you want your child or even you has an adult going back to colkege like myself; Howard his the guy you need. My daughters are not the easiest kids to teach, but everytime Howard leaves my home they have more confidence in themselves and they grades have increase. So I know he’s doing a grest job.I recommend him with a 110%.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $75/hr for SAT/ACT private tutoring and college counseling, $50/hr for academic tutoring. SAT/ACT tutoring sessions last 2 hours. Academic tutoring sessions are 1.5 hours generally with a 1 hour minimum. There is a discount for small group tutoring. For example, if two to three students wish to tutor SAT together, the fee is reduced. For example, if two to three students wish to tutor SAT together, the fee is reduced: 2 students pay $50.00 each, 3 students pay $40.00 each.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer free consultations so that I may introduce myself, meet the student and parent(s), assess the needs of the student, create a plan of action, and schedule sessions. I tutor at the the student's house, preferably at a kitchen or dining room table for convenience and supervision. However, I am flexible and willing to discuss alternatives.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Tulane University and B.A. in English Literature and a Master's in Teaching - Secondary School English Literature from The Citadel. I have worked for The Princeton Review and Charleston and Berkeley County school systems as a certified teacher, substitute teacher, and tutor. I have 18 years experience and presently carry a North Carolina Teacher's certification.
