Living in Jacksonville NC, everyone is a "photographer". I found Rachel after searching for the perfect photographer to capture my sons newborn photos. I came across her page on Facebook and immediately realized, SHE is the definition of a photographer! Talented, passionate, loving, gentle, kind, hilarious, such a well rounded woman. She was so flexible and made sure to get us in within the 10 day recommended window for a newborn session. The session was more than I could have ever dreamt of! Her home was so warm and welcoming, she even went to the extent of turning off her air so my sweet boy wouldn't get cold! Another special touch that still makes my eyes water was the lullaby music she had playing in the background and her gentle touch soothing my son to sleep for his photos. I knew before the session even ended the pictures would be perfect and they were! I then booked a second session for my sons 9 month photos and of course they were just as perfect!! She will be doing his photos again for his first birthday as well as taking family photos and I am counting down the days! I have found our family photographer and I look forward to our future sessions! Thank you SO much Rachel!!

i had an appointment with Ms Rachel and i was extremely nervous when i first got there because i had never done anything like this before and that it was very much out of my comfort zone. But once i arrived at her house she told me to just relax and gave me wine to calm my nerves which most definitely helped...Her and Birana both made me feel extremely comfortable they both engaged in conversation with me and helped me keep occupied....once my session started Rachel was so nice ad didnt take control of the situation ad just made me feel like i was controlling it..and when i got the link to look at my pictures i was so amazed with them...i would absolutely use her company again!

My family and I actually have had two photo shoots with Rachel. The first was a maternity shoot and the second was our newborn shoot. Both times she was wonderful. She made us feel so comfortable as if we were out with a friend we'd known forever. We absolutely love our shots and we have memories that will last us a lifetime. When friends ask about our photos or who they should use, we always mention Rachel. And I wouldn't use just anyone so that goes to show just how amazing she truly is! She strives to make you happy, give you flattering shots, and we had our photos back and edited at lightening speed. She's a workaholic and perfectionist and it shows. We adore you Rachel! Thank you!

So my review is extremely overdue (I'm sorry Rachel) but I felt like that least I can do is write something. Rachel Smith IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I researched for about 2 weeks contacting a ton of photographers and looking at portfolios and Rachel is BY FAR the best! When she came to my home to do a newborn photo shoot of my family, my baby fussed and cried majority of the time and I had to nurse him 2 times. She never pressured me to hurry up or made me feel like the clock was ticking. If you look at my photo album, she took all of those pictures, plus a bunch more that aren't posted in only 1 hour! I was worried the photos were going to come out bad because the baby was fussy but when I saw the images she captured she had me in tears! She took a ton of pictures and you can't tell the baby fussed at all. She was extremely patient, go with the flow, professional, on time, played with the baby to try to get him to smile, but most of all she loves what she does and you can tell by the way her photos come out. She is extremely fair with pricing and gives you every picture she takes, unlike most photographers. I highly, highly recommend her and I plan on using her again for birthday parties, future pregnancies and births, and when my husband and I renew our vows. She is THAT amazing!

So I have been meaning to sit down and write this review for awhile but I wanted to be great so I would always not like what I wrote. Anyways, I met Rachel through working with her at good ole ERAC in Jacksonville. I always had loved Rachel's work but never had a reason for pictures. I got married and moved to Massachusetts so I always thought I would never be able to have Rachel photograph me and my husband. Rachel was going to Philly for a wedding and opened up to some shoots so I jumped on the chance. My husband knew if we didn't go then we were going back to NC or we were going to fly Rachel to MA to get pictures done. I have to say she was truly everything I expected and more. She was down to earth, and friendly and didn't make the poses feel so posed. She truly has an eye for things and does it so easily. My husband loved her as well and felt very much himself which gave us better pictures. Rachel's turn around time was amazing as well and my pictures were exactly as I had envisioned them. My hubby was impressed and now understood why I was so persistent in that Rachel had to do our pictures. I will probablly always have her photograph me and my hubby and family when it comes from now on even if that means we have to travel to her or fly her to us...she is very much worth the investment. I couldn't recommend her high enough to anyone and everyone I know near and far haha. We loved our pictures and are so grateful Rachel was able to do them.

Book based off quality, not off of price. Be sure to check out your potential photographer as well as others in the area to be sure you are picking the right match for you!

There is much more work into photography then many know. The price you pay isn't just for our time. There are lots of behind the scenes hard work and expenses that go into running a photography business.
