This was my first experience hiring a private chef...and WOW...I hit the jackpot with Chef Shawn! He was prompt, attentive, professional, and I'm pretty sure my kitchen was even cleaner after he finished! The food was absolutely amazing! Our dining experience consisted of a four course seated dinner for six in our home. (We even had an additional surprise course..thanks Chef!) All the guests are "foodies", world travelers, and love cooking and we all agreed it was a "Top Five" lifetime dining experience. Chef Shawn was organized and relaxed. He had wonderful creative ideas throughout the planning stages, yet joyfully accommodated all my requests (food allergies, late dinner hour after little kiddos go to bed, etc). The dishes he created used fresh, local, organic ingredients prepared in a way we have never tasted before. He is proud of his talent, his many culinary experiences around the world, and he clearly cooks with love. We highly recommend Chef Shawn and look forward to hiring him again!

I met Chef Shawn this past year and hired him to take care of all the details for a private luncheon. We discussed where, when, how and why the luncheon was important to me. Chef Shawn is an excellent listener because the day of the luncheon he created exactly what I was looking for. I could enjoy every moment with my guests and enjoy the magnificent food that he cooked for us. He is detail oriented with a pleasant personality. I would hire him again.

We just had Shawn cook dinner for our employees and spouses in our home, and boy, did we have fun! Shawn communicated with me from the very beginning about our expectations and plans for the evening. He is very personable, organized and creative! He gave us a demonstration then we sat down to the best meal we have had in a long time. We have several foodies in our group and they are still raving about the dinner. I really enjoyed having Shawn in my home. Perhaps the best part of the night was walking out of the dining room and back to the kitchen, where the entire kitchen was already spotless! I just wish I could have him come more regularly. We are already planning our next event so we can include Shawn again.

I was planning an open house event for our company and contacted multiple caterers for heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks for about 60 people. Shawn instantly reached out to talk though the event with me so he could understand what I was looking for. What was so great about working with Shawn is from the beginning he was in the same page as me and knew exactly what I was looking for. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and worked with me to create a wonderful menu and overall fantastic experience for our guests. The food was phenomenal and our guests were all raving. Not only did Shawn deliver amazing food and service as promised, but he beyond exceeded my expectations and truly was a delight to work with. I would highly recommend him and look forward to working with him again in the future.

I have a sliding scale due to the nature of how I tailor each meal and event to each client's needs. No meal is exactly the same, and each pricing will fit the needs of each guest.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is listening to exactly what the guest needs and tailoring their event to the exact specifications. This insures their event is perfect from start to finish.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
NCSU School of Design as well as Culinary School at WTCC in Raleigh, NC
