Southern Backyards exceeded my expectations. Ben and his crew were punctual and terribly nice to work with. More importantly, Ben genuinely cares about the project and wants it "right" prior to the job being completed - and as a customer with OCD, he didn't let me down. Project included pruning, bed re-alignment/defining, pine straw (60), and irrigation install(zone) and irrigation tweaking/assignment. Communication was impeccable and the price was fair.

We recently moved to Wilmington from Atlanta and had the contents of a five bedroom house temporarily in storage here in Wilmington. We engaged Ben and his team, through Thumbtack, to move everything from storage to either our new home or to another storage unit. Ben prepared a quote and then delivered on all his promises. The furniture included a player piano, which was extremely heavy and the team moved it without any incidents. The entire move was successfully completed on time, at the agreed price and with a very professional approach. The results were outstanding, everything arrived and was placed where we wanted it and there were zero breakages and no damage to the house, furniture or any of our belongings. Ben and the team were polite and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Ben and his team.

This was my first experience on Thumbtack and couldn't be happier! I had a number of individuals respond to my bid for having some landscaping and SOD laid in my yard. Almost all had extremely poor communication with a few putting together generic quotes without a visit, a couple others showed but failed to followup with a quote... To be perfectly honest I wasn't entirely sure if this was going to pan out. I met with Ben Mullis of Southern Backyards and from the initial visit I was quite happy with his enthusiasm about taking on the project, he reassured me with a detailed quote, which was hands down the best "bang for the buck" and upon which he was able to deliver.. my exact thoughts going into it were "he doesn't know what he's getting himself into". He went above and beyond what the quote entailed, with tree trimming, mulching, and sprinkler system adjustment while spending an additional Saturday to come by and make sure the job was finished as promised. I would encourage anyone interested in having landscaping performed, regardless of the type, to have Ben stop by. He will most definitely be my first call next time around!

Ben's crew was amazing. They were on time. Hard workers. The moved everything with care and respect and even moved around my heavy furniture after I changed my mind a couple times.
