- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend classroom training every year as a requirement to renew my electrical contracting license. I also read a variety of trade magazines and journals on a regular basis to keep up with the latest developments and trends in my line of work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a professional engineer for 21 years when I decided that I wanted to get involved with more hands-on work and also start my own company. I always liked wiring and troubleshooting electrical problems so it was natural for me to pursue getting an electrical contracting license.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Our bread and butter jobs include service changes, troubleshooting and repairs, punch-list items form home inspections, adding receptacles, installing fans and lighting fixtures, recessed lighting, wiring heat pumps and air conditioners, safety inspections, installing GFCIs for improved safety, running new circuits, and wiring for remodeling projects.
