- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I honestly try to customize a package of what the individual(s) want or need & nothing you don't so that you're saving as much money as possible for other aspects of the Wedding/event. Pricing depends on the event itself, amount of hours DJ services needed, etc. Sometimes extra equipment is required for some events. I try to be competitively priced to local DJ's (some of which are friends) and I am flexible if needing to travel more than an hour or so outside of metro area, I don't charge anything extra for traveling (fuel cost), even if we need to meet multiple times. I will work with you personally and always try to be reasonable on pricing. Below is just a rough estimate: Weddings-(local) $775 Corporate/Private Parties-$450 (usually a party for a local school event, birthday party, anniversary, & the like are a little less.) Karaoke is an option in all shows for a minimal charge, just request it in advance so I have needed equipment. When possible for all involved, I find it's worked well to meet in advance so you are comfortable hiring me and we can go over any questions you may have at that time.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to start my own DJ business after years of assisting friends that are professional DJ's. I worked with them, learning from their various techniques. Since I enjoy music and helping others, I extensively researched & finally purchased new equipment of my own. Now I have flexibility to do my own shows and still help out fellow DJ's as well as refer others to them if I'm already booked.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with a large array of customers & always been able to reassure them of my professionalism, even though to some I may have a quirky sense of humor that occasionally shows during our free & no pressure consultation. I offer to meet clients to discuss Planning Packet I bring as well as discuss what lighting & other options I have to offer. Whenever possible I make myself available to them for further questions and will meet with them as often as needed, when distance and time restraints allow.
