FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For graphic design projects, I typically charge $75/hour, but I try to work within the client's budget. I send a final invoice when the project is complete and approved by the client. For photography, the pricing varies depending on the type of shoot or event. For portrait photography, 50% of the payment is due the day of the shoot and 50% is due when the images are delivered. For event photography, I require a 20% deposit to reserve the date. The remainder of the payment is due on the day of the event.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I meet the client in person or over the phone to see if we are a good fit for each other. Then we discuss the details of the project or photo shoot itself. For design, I then work with the client's budget and time frame and send the client initial drafts to ensure I'm headed in the right direction before finalizing the project. For photography, I meet the client(s) at the proposed location on the proposed date, photograph for the agreed upon amount of time, and then edit the photos (a few weeks for portraits, a few months for weddings/large events). I deliver all of my files (design or photography) to my clients via a private Dropbox link where the client(s) can download the high resolution files.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design Print and a Bachelor of Art in French Language. I work full-time as a graphic designer for an organization in Omaha, Nebraska, where I do print & digital design as well as photography. In college, I took and excelled in multiple college photography courses. During that time, I also worked for a wedding photography company in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I got a lot of great experience photographing and learning how to work under stress.
