Jo Ellen Simon is a perfectly lovely person to work with...before you sign the contract. Even though said contract clearly states that you do not owe them the remainder of payment until 2 weeks before your wedding date, we were hounded by them beginning at 4 weeks from our date. They are extremely unprofessional on the phone, you can clearly hear them yelling at each other while on the phone with clients. I was so frustrated by the price tag constantly going up whenever I asked or adjusted anything regarding decoration that I finally just requested her to deliver a plain white cake, no decoration at all. It was much less hassle to just ask a family member to place ribbon on the cake, rather than bother Jo Ellen to do it (and charge us for doing so). Her cake is delicious, but the price and hassle for a simple wedding cake could have been much better used at the Hyvee on Fort Street. Definitely do NOT recommend.

If I could give this company a zero rating, I would. My wedding was in 2014. Cake was very dry and they showed no remorse when I reported this to them when we returned the cake base. No samples provided; we were told that we either had to attend a show or buy one of her cakes. We chose to buy one and of course this was delicious which is why we selected them. Cake was so dry I was embarrassed as I had informed some of my guests prior to the wedding of how good it tasted.
