- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I tutor in-person in the Omaha area and virtually all over the world! Sessions are $75/hour for one person or $120/hour for two people. I provide revisions and edits on written copy that do not require face-to-face meetings. My rate is $50/hour and I bill by the hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I will ask customers to define their goals. I will ask these questions: What are you working on and what do you hope to accomplish? What are your deadlines? How can I be of service? If requested, we can schedule a 10-15 minute introductory phone call before booking the first appointment. I work with individuals, pairs, and even small groups. The introduction will help me understand the customer's needs and learning style. I offer flexible scheduling: 1) On demand with 48 hour turnaround. This is recommended for: --Students whose essays require revision and editing --Proofreading professional materials (resumes, reports, articles) before submission 2) Weekly sessions. This is recommended for: --Reading: annotation strategies, close reading, inference, vocabulary development --Composition: articles, essays, professional materials, creative writing --Public Speaking: body language, pacing, volume 3) One week intensives ($350; sessions on five consecutive days). This is recommended for: --Personal Narratives and Supplemental Essays for College Applications --ACT or SAT practice (English, Reading, Writing) --Admissions Essays for Graduate School Programs (ideation to composition to execution)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Education: --Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University Chicago --Masters in Arts in Teaching in Secondary English from Boston College --Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College. Teaching Experience: I have 12 years of full-time secondary teaching experience in English Language Arts classrooms. I am a tenured teacher with a Professional Educator License in Illinois. I possess deep knowledge on pedagogical matters related to the PK-12 classroom and school experience.
