We just met with Kristin last Monday and evaluated the situation with our foster dog Zelle. We got a good feeling from her and even more importantly, Zelle seemed to respond well to her. We agreed to schedule several follow-up sessions to work on Zelle's fears and behavioral issues. It's too early to give an accurate star rating, but fingers crossed, so far so good!

I can't speak highly enough enough of the service we have received from Nanny Wags. Shayna, our sitter goes way above what is required. The daily texts and pictures were just what we needed to not worry about our two needy puggles and be able to enjoy our vacation. We have also used Nanny wags for dog walking and the service has been outstanding. We are so happy that we found Shayna, she is amazing!

Karen is wonderful with my dog! Usually after the initial meet & greet I prefer to be at the first few visits until I know my dog and the pet sitter are comfortable with each other. But my dog took yo Karen immediately and I was able to skip that step very comfortably. My dog fell in love with her instantly, and he is usually a very cautious dog. And as dog lovers know, we can trust their instincts. Karen has been so flexible and goes above & beyond. I'm so grateful I found her!

Kendra has been watching my dog Cooper for 5 years now. I can't think of enough good things to say about her!! It is such a relief to go on vacation and have her stay at our house. Not only does she give my dog excellent care, somehow my house is cleaner then when I left! On one particular trip as we were leaving my dog had a little cough, a couple of days later it got worse and Kendra took him to the vet, picked up medicine and made sure he was well. When we came home he was back to normal. Kendra is always reliable she has never once cancelled and has actually gone out of her way to help us out on last minute trips or emergencies. Most importantly is how much my dog loves her! I have recommended Kendra to many friends and all have been thrilled with her services.

Fantastic! Jake helped me correct some behavioral issues I had with my newly adopted border collie. It was a joy working with him and my dog and I are better for it! I learned so much as he was a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dog training. He puts the clients needs first and was very committed to the job. Every minute of our session was devoted to training, so you'll definitely get your moneys worth.

I love dogs and love to be outdoors. I would love to walk your dog/dogs and enjoy their company! I am dependable and take what I do seriously.

I just moved to Dracut. I'm not a business. I'm looking for something small to get myself started. I do dog walks for now.

What I do is everything that someone can't do for their dogs. I love dogs and have been around with them my whole life. I myself have a Cane Corso. If you're looking for someone with a big heart for dogs and a safe, caring place, then look no further. Give me a call or text me anytime.

I do it to help others out and I love dogs. I used to rescue them so I don't mind walking them in my spare time. No dogs are too big or small, I love all breeds.

My job stands out because I love babies and I love pets!!!

Dog and people training that's focused on helping families have a balanced dog. This type of instruction works well for the majority of owners who want a family dog, not a ribbon in obedience. Manners, some "environmental obedience", and very few bad habits are what most of us want from our four-legged friends.

I love animals. I walk up to five miles a day, so having a companion next to me would make it fun. I will provide for animals' needs while in my care, and the pay is negotiable. Please contact me asap.

Very positive attitude towards everything, a lot of patients, very outgoing, love to play with the animals, and do as much as I can

Hi, I am beginning dog walking for dogs near me! 🐶

I will walk your pet when you can't. We will walk, play, run and have some fun. I will encourage her/him to do their business. I will perform other duties if necessary; i.e., feeding, cleaning, etc.

I walk dogs. I can also come to your house and feed them and hangout with them for a decent amount of time. I bathe them and make sure they get a decent amount of exercise.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

  • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
  • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
  • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
  • What are your different walk routes?
  • When will you pick up and drop off?
  • How will we communicate?
  • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
  • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
  • How and how often do I pay you?
  • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
