I hired Tight Knot Design Build to build two decks for me, a large deck along the front of my house, and a smaller deck at the side entrance. Both decks more than met my expectations, especially with regards to the special design features, including a pergola over a portion of the front deck. The decks are well-made and very solid, and well worth the price. I was very impressed with Adams design instincts. He helped me design the different features of the deck, and he was open to making design changes along the way. He kept in close communication with me over the 6 weeks of the build, and let me know when he had to make changes to the schedule. We wrote up a detailed contract, and there were no surprise charges along the way. The payment schedule we set up during the build was quite reasonable. I have been very happy with my new decks. My friends and neighbors have given me lots of compliments, especially about the wonderful pergola over the front deck, which creates a really nice gathering space for the family. I have no hesitation recommending Adam for your deck project, and I would certainly hire him again.

We have worked with Slag Design Build on a couple of deck remodel and restoration jobs. They did good work, showed up on time, organized, good craftsmanship, and problem solvers. We have recommended them to friends and would work with them again.

I always guarantee the price that I give clients on the estimate. They will not pay a penny more than the price I give them prior to work, contractually guaranteed.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll visit, talk with the client about their project, and propose an estimate a few days after the meeting. Often, I spend time resolving design with the client prior to commencing construction
