Let me begin by saying that Desiree is a truly a remarkable woman with a wealth of knowledge and understanding about her craft. My wife (then fiancé) and I sought counsel with Desiree for some issues that we were having in our relationship and from the moment we sat down with her we felt as if we were four friends having a conversation versus having a "session." The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Desiree was professional, sensitive, and displayed a great deal of compassion when speaking with us. She focused on us as a couple while keeping our individual personalities in mind as well. She gave suggestions and implemented strategies that were conducive to my wife and I becoming better individuals for one another. Desiree still does follow-up calls to check in with us to see how we're doing. She loves what she does and it shows, that speaks volumes for the quality of her work.

Oh Gosh! This is so hard because I have so much to say about Desiree. She has completely changed my life and the life of my entire family. I am certain I would not be where I am today without her presence and guidance in my life. She has pushed me to be a better human being and parent. One of the things she really pushed me on is being more consistent and encouraging me to delve deeper into why I was not consistent. What was keeping me from being a consistent parent? She encouraged me to find the support and resources I needed to continue to work on this consistence. I love talking to her because she is solution oriented. But she does not just have solutions she has solutions that work. She is able to break things down things in away that you can apply them right away in your life. I felt she taught me how to be an incredible present parent to my kids. She taught me how to be there for them emotionally, and how to teach them to start to be able to deal with their emotions. Can you ask for more? This is what real success looks like, and I get to give it to me kids!!! On top of that, she is so easy to talk to . And she inspires me. I would never have even started my business without her encouragement. My kids who are 5 can name their emotions. I see them use the techniques she has taught me all the time not yet consistently, but their on their way. It is amazing to watch them negotiate with each other and talk to each other about their feelings. My husband and I have also gone through some hard things, and she has been there for us. I know without her guidance we may not have gotten through those rough patches. Her advice I know I will be using and affecting me for the rest of life and will have ripple affects for my children for their whole lives as well. I can’t say that about much of the advice I have gotten over my life. If you are wavering about working with her I would not hesitate. You will get I am sure more than you expected and will grow in ways you never anticipated when you first started to work with her. That certainly was the case with my family.

Desiree Adkins is attentive and fully present in her interactions with you, making you feel cared for and listened to. She has a wealth of experience in family systems and her wise counsel is a reflection of her broad perceptions. Thanks to Desiree I have learned to take ownership for my (pregnant) body/feeling without guilt or negative judgment, which has contributed to my personal sense of maturity, by not heeding to the opinions or expectations of others. I highly recommend Desiree's services as she is both warm and well qualified as a personal consultant on family issues.

I have benefitted from Desirees skills as a life coach for several years; she has assisted me across numerous dimensions including effective parenting, establishing boundaries and maintaining healthy relationships, and developing self-love and self-care practices. In a world that often tells us not to feel certain feelings or to brush it off and move on or to just count your blessings, Desiree has been instrumental at giving me permission to feel my feelings. In so doing, she has taught me the art of being present (or mindful of) with my feelings and served as a model for how I can extend the same non-judgmental grace to myself in all situations.

Before welcoming you into my practice, we'll meet by phone for a strategy consultation. This time allows us to connect + see if we’d work well together. Plus, we'll get crystal clear on what you want, how to get it, and if I can help. "Fit" is crucial to the success of our relationship, so before we end our call, we'll decide if we want to work together. If so, I'll email your Welcome Packet and invoice and we'll get started right away! My offer of partnership is only for those who are truly ready to confront what's holding them back. I'll be with you every step of the way, but only if you're committed to doing the work to improve your life.
