As an educator, the breadth of my 6-year teaching experience at Manhattan School of Music (MSM) offers a rich understanding of cultivating relationships with students from all around the world, with diverse backgrounds and different aptitudes. I have received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music. My CV highlights teaching of college-level courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels, in private and classroom settings, to piano majors as well as non-piano majors. Mijung is an excellent teacher who puts great care into making the learning process enjoyable and meaningful. Every lesson is creative and thoughtful; I particularly appreciate her incorporation of theory and history that provides deeper insight into the score. Dr Lee was amazing at teaching our girls. She was very patient and kind. She was always on time and very flexible with the lesson schedule. I would definitely recommend Dr. Lee for your lesson needs. She is AMAZING! The only reason we had to leave is because we started in person lessons locally.

She was very secure with her curriculum, which was absolutely great, while she also was caring student's improvement individually. Each students in our class had very different levels of piano skill, but I think the atmosphere of class was comfortable and centered to focus on what you are trying to learn. Even though there was not enough class time, I could concentrate to learn the details of musical phrasing by using pressure properly, which I have felt it was of my weakness.

My rates are as follows:
$65 for a 30-minute lesson
$90 for a 45-minute lesson
$125 for a 60-minute lesson
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is relevant to mention my own education and training as the longest pupil of legendary pedagogue Dr. Mikowsky, with whom I began studying at the age of eleven as his only student in the pre-college division. Over our 14-year student-teacher relationship, I have explored a wide range of repertoire which included obscure, often neglected pieces, contemporary, and Spanish music, along with the major works of traditional repertoire. Following the same legacy, I believe that a vast understanding of the piano literature and choosing the right repertoire for each individual student are crucial elements every great teacher must possess.

I hold BM, MM, and DMA in Classical Piano Performance at Manhattan School of Music, where I studied with Dr. Solomon Mikowsky.
