I cannot give enough accolades to Dorice. When I was having problems training my puppy wheaten terrier, a few people, including our Vet recommended Dorice. She came to our home and worked with my husband and I and the puppy, of course, for a few hours and by the end of the session we saw amazing positive results. Dorice is the most energetic, upbeat person I know and look forward to our next sessions with her.Feb 3, 2015
Dorice is the perfect combination of professionalism and heart. Working with her you know she has the right strategy and your-- and your dog's-- best interests. She is constantly expanding her knowledge base and has the wonderful instincts of a true dog lover.Dec 28, 2013Canines Can Do llc's reply
I am glad that I could be of help Elizabeth. Thank you for your kind words.
Dorice is a wonderful positive dog trainer. She is calm and the dogs love her. After a class, Dorice sends us home with handouts. You can review what was taught in class and practice at home. Dorice also offers free group walks. The walks give you a chance to meet other dogs and owners and practice what you have learned in class in a real-life environment. Dorice also answers questions and give tips on her Canine Can Do FB page. I highly recommend her.Dec 27, 2013Canines Can Do llc's reply

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? The best trainers will take the CPDT-KA test to verify their expertise and experience. We are required to stay current and increase our knowledge of training and behavior. I have advanced training with Dr. Ian Dunbar, renowned international judge, Victoria Stillwell, Sue Goldberg, Pedigree Breeder of the Year (10 years in a row) Sylvia Hamilton, and many others including texts by Pat Miller, Jean Donaldson, and others.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I help to solve puppy problems including jumping, mouthing/biting and housebreaking. I also teach advanced obedience skills to puppies and adults so they can qualify for the AKC STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Community Canine (CGCA) recognition. I have certified many of my students and their dogs for Therapy Work and have a 100% success rate. I do not encourage any dog to walk off leash in public as it is against local laws and according to the AKC is not a part of responsible dog ownership. As a member of the Ridgewood Responsible Dog Owner's Committee I am an advocate of training responsibly.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?A recent owner came to me with her dog that did not listen to her and refused to lie down. We worked together both privately and in group lessons. I recently certified her for therapy work and she joined me on her very first visit. He made everyone so happy and was the perfect therapy dog.
