  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    While buying a cake for a birthday party, I came across the website of a bakery that had an active blog. This bakery's blog had posts of recipes, photos of cakes, and even stories about flavor combinations that didn't quite work. I really enjoyed reading the blog, and felt like I had an insider's view to the business, and really wanted to support them. I thought about how so many other businesses could benefit from creating content that did the same thing, and launched my company shortly afterward. Because I'm a former television and newspaper reporter, I know that power of telling a good story, and I use that experience in my work now.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    I work with clients in two ways: 1.) I'm hired to manage all of their social media accounts, write blogs, and serve as an editor and writer for all of the Facebook posts, Tweets and blogs from the company. And 2.) I offer consulting services to clients who want to manage their accounts themselves, but need a personalized "plan of action" for doing so.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Before a client begins working with someone to manage their social media accounts and do any kind of business consulting, first make sure that your service provider understands your business and your goals. Look for someone who will take the time to get to know you and your business, and will create personalized action plans for you. Every small business is different, and every small business has different marketing needs, so be very wary of one-size-fits-all solutions.
