As of 4/13/26, your first lesson is $5! Then 2nd lesson is $10, 3rd lesson is $15, 4th lesson is $20, we add up 5 dollars each lesson until we reach my regular fee of $50 per half an hour. I’d love us to see if we are a good fit. I am a performing arts performer and an educator. I believe these two aspects compliment each other; performing helps me to understand my strength and my students, and my students help me to improve my performance. I am new to Thumbtack (a couple of weeks!) but I have taught flute for 10 years, in different countries and cities, including Taipei(Taiwan), Madison (WI),NYC and Queens(NY), Jersey City (NJ) I teach flute/piccolo(all level), piano(beginner and intermediate), baroque flute (as you could hear on my website!) music theory(intermediate), music appreciation and aural skills(all levels). My teaching style is goal-oriented. Usually I will set a goal with my students to achieve in a certain amount of time. The reason is, I do expect my students to practice and refine their skills in between classes, and I will provide as many useful techniques and fun as possible. I hope my students can improve because if they improve, it is more likely they will stay motivated in the long run. My music style is mainly classical. Sometimes will do some jazz, blue, folk and broadway. I am a classical trained musician, I did some jazz flute while I did my doctoral degree in flute performance. My teaching and performance experiences: - Wisconsin youth symphony orchestra - Dawson community college guest artist - Taiwan music competition jury (2016) - numerous lecture recitals, conferences nationally and internationally. - numerous performances and repertoire, please ask me for a list - New Jersey performing arts center RAMP faculty since 2019 ( recorder arts for musical pathway)
