My life is hectic and Ive never had time for the gym. Attending sessions with Daryl made me make time for myself and motivated me to have a healthier life style. While I was never over weight, I was out of shape! Daryl structures our training sessions around my personal needs. He also offers advice on meals and nutrition. He is upbeat and excited at each of our sessions and keeps things fresh. I never do the same workout twice. He is able to combine strength training, cardio, boxing, and circuit training into my sessions. Bill is an amazing trainer and mentor. Very laid back and simultaneously incredibly motivating. I came in to continue training kickboxing but now we do all kinds of trainings including workout to increase mucle mass, fitness and since he is a black belt in Isshinryu (Karate) we started that as well and all I can say is that his patience, skill and flexibility are absolutely remarkable. If you are looking for someone to help you with advanced training or just guide you through the basics, he is the person for it. Also, he teaches kids as well of all ages so if you're a parent with a child and would like them to get some exercise and have a mentor, Sensei Bill is your man. I worked with Curtis 2-3x a week for about a year and I was in the best shape. He tailored the workouts to my level and needs and helped me get stronger. He is extremely knowledgeable about the body, muscles and fitness in general. What I loved about working with Curtis is he's very personable. He encourages, supports and motivates - he's genuinely interested in your goals and works with you to obtain them. I saw him frequently but the workouts always varied - he's always coming up with different exercises - this is a good example of keeping it fun for the client AND shows his commitment to learning more about training for his own professional development. I looked forward to the workouts that were challenging and intense. I definitely recommend working with Curtis!
When I began working out with Muhaimin I was barely fitting into my clothing. My cardiovascular health was extremely low. After working with him for 6 weeks I lost 2 pant sizes. My muscle tone began to come back and I started to feel stronger both physically and mentally. 6 months later I've lost 20 pounds and am in prime physical shape. While I could barely walk at a brisk pace, I can now run a mile at 5.5. Overall, Muhaimin has helped me to reach my goal of getting back to my pre-baby body, has helped me increase my confidence in myself, and guided me to restore my physical strength. He differentiates his workouts to suit your desired results. He combines weight training with Muay Thai to burn fat and build muscle to quickly get you your desired result. I attended my first small group fitness class at Vargus Fitness in February 2012 and haven’t stopped going since. The owner, Mike, is very knowledgable regarding exercising and what you should be doing versus what you should not be doing. I’ve never felt intimidated or uncomfortable while being there but rather strong and confident. The workouts are intense and you ALWAYS feel like you’re getting the workout of your life. You will definitely feel every bone and muscle in your body getting a full workout. The classes and his personal training sessions change on a daily basis and the best part is these classes are universal in that they are appropriate for a beginner in the fitness world or someone who’s been working out for some time. I also really like the motivation the staff provides and they never let you slack off. The staff focuses on every person individually throughout the class and will provide you with guidance/assistance/corrections on any exercises you may find difficult or that you may be doing incorrectly. Additionally, in the 2 years I’ve been attending Vargus Fitness, all of the other clientele I’ve met have been nothing but nice, fun and motivating as well. We push each other to higher limits and enjoy calling each other out if one of us falls short on an exercise. If you’re more interested in the one on one training, there are also personal training classes available. Again, similar to the boot camp classes, the personal training is just as intense and the staff can accommodate your workout to your specific needs.
We can't explain how happy we are that we found Mike A. as a personal trainer. -He's affordable -His hours are flexible He's very skilled -He trains in an easy-to-understand style -He's very upbeat and professional Our son took an interest in fighting so we went the normal route of school wrestling, boxing gym, Jui Jitsu classes which were all good. But he got bored with the same old large class rhythmic training. We then found Mike and have been using him one on one for the past 4-5 months, and with the progress and confidence our son shows, we know we made the right choice. DEFINITELY a 5-star trainer.
Stanley is currently working with my 9 year old athletic son and he provides so much more than cardio training. Stanley listens to what my sons needs are and carefully creates a workout regimen specific to him. He is professional, polite and responsive. I recommended him to others already and will continue to do so.
My evaluation of Val as a trainer is that she is OUTSTANDING. I have been with her for 10 years, and here is the reason why. Over 10 years ago, I found myself in the situation of having to become a caregiver (specifically for my Mom). For those who have never been a caregiver, I can tell you that it can take a lot out of you mentally and physically (depending on the situation). I have never been in the best of physical condition, but I had really neglected myself. I attained a weight of about perhaps 220 pounds, very poor cardiovascular status, high blood pressure, a type of pale to greyish skin complexion (not to mention a very scraggy beard). Indeed, if you saw me, you would want to put me out of my misery...this is NO exaggeration. My doctor, upon examination, gave me THE warning...either begin physical exercise, watch what I eat, or be placed in ICU. I joined NYSC, and was referred to Val. She did a physical evaluation on me, determined what type of training I needed, AND she asked me what did I wish to accomplish (which was to lose weight, tone down, improve cardiovascular condition, or, in other words....TO BE COMPLETELY RECYCLED). Indeed, with the precision, planning, and necessary (in my case) toughness of a drill sergeant, 10 years on, I have improved greatly. Indeed, I have more endurance, more flexibility, more muscular development which I could never achieve alone. I simply do not look my age. And I just plain feel better. The training that Val puts me through is quite thorough. There is always advice on nutrition (she has a degree in this), and an extensive knowledge of anatomy with which helps with some muscular problems that I endure from time to time. All in all, I firmly believe that having Val as my trainer saved my life, and I am hoping for another 10 years with her as my trainer. For those of you who read my testimony, I strongly urge you to sign up with an introductory training session with her. Val will listen to your concerns, and ask you what you want to accomplish in a training program. I am confident that you will not be disappointed. Salvatore Mauro December 13, 2016
Sensei Sanchez always puts 150% when teaching. You can truly see the passion from his work. He continues to learn from different disciplines, which is rare in a Martial Arts instructor. As I have also registered my family members with me, I highly recommend him.
In a nut shell I'm over weight don't reallly have much motivation gyms aren't for me and I was looking for someone to help me so I can be around to watch my kids grow up, with coach bob I'm gettin yhe training knowledge and motivation I need to get healthy and fit so I can watch my boys grow up and actually keep up with them hands down best around
