Introduction: I have been helping students CRUSH all fields of High School, College,Test Prep, and professional math/analytics since 2011. I provide guidance for advanced students, along with students who are totally lost! I've had some students who were initially failing math, only to be placed one or two grades ahead after a few months with my help! Struggling High School and University test prep students see double digit increases in their percentile rankings , and my advanced students rise the extra percentage points they're looking for.
Math was my greatest fear and worst failure until I turned 30, yet I earned both my bachelors Magna Cum Laude in economics and mathematics on a full scholarship and the Charles Pine Study in Economics award Grant in 2015, and my MS in Business Intelligence and Analytics in May 2017.
I was the worst math student, I couldn't understand how it was taught in school, and I was convinced that I just wasn't a math person. Yet when I went back to college as an adult, I decided to teach myself the basics of mathematics... and it just took off from there.
I learned my method of learning, and that discovery has helped me realize that I can help other students, (whatever their age) who had the same problem as I did. With that certainty, I have been able to help hundreds of students understand whatever formulas , theorems, or test formats that initially challenged them.
I have noticed that all of my students are actually quite skilled at calculation, its just their strategy of calculating that is holding them back.
All you need is someone with a bit of perspective to take a look at how you do math, find a few small mistakes, and explain what to do in PLAIN ENGLISH, once that happens, all I have to do is sit by and watch for a few small details as my students solve equations that terrified them just ten minutes before.
I do one on one and classroom tutoring, up to groups of 12. I've tutored students from age 9 to 70. All are welcome!
I've worked with several kids on the spectrum and with special needs, I seem to have a knack with kids who have the most trouble learning.
When it comes to test prep, think of me as a SAT, ACT ,GRE, and Math proficiency exam prep life coach. if your scores are average or minimal, in order to achieve a drastic improvement in your test prep scores, you literally need coaching, constant testing, re-assessing, and an approachable increase in challenging math problems as you progress....so lets get to it!!
