Walked dogs. On camera- I think the walkers are too aggressive in their behavior correction. Our dog's trail would always be down. Walker was not happy more like this is a job. Left poop in yard. Not all walks are 30min.Nov 15, 2016VerifiedMind of Dog's reply
Greetings, I am responding to this review though I have communicated privately with Jess regarding her thoughts on our service. I picked up poop from the entire yard--weeks worth--though we were only hired for a walk. I did this as a courtesy. If I left any poop otherwise, I deeply apologize. I’d have hoped that the gesture of cleaning the entire back yard would speak for my good intentions to go above and beyond standard dog walking service. We took Jess as a last minute client as she was recommended by someone we had worked with a week prior with wonderful results. That individual had an aggressive doberman named Rocky and hired us only for a bath. We socialized Rocky with dogs prior to his bath and sent his owner a keepsake picture of their boy sitting nicely with other dogs--a feat they thought impossible. We took this risk because our work is much more than a job to us. Rocky’s owners can attest, as all of our clients can, that we take dogs for much longer than our advertised time on almost all occasions. One needs to look no further than our page at instagram.com/mindofdognj to see daily pictures of dogs receiving one of a kind experiences. On Tuesday, we took nineteen dogs to see the tree at Rockefeller Center and walk around Manhattan. We charged nothing extra for this and brought everyone home happy in the evening to elated owners. They’re used to it. Jess’ dogs, Gigi and Emily, were both in need of socialization and boundaries. All dogs that start out with us have a short adjustment period, though most join our group hikes on the first day. I took this initial time with Gigi and Emily to teach them their proper role with me so that way they could soon join new friends and understand how to safely interact in a highly social environment. We handle dogs the way they handle each other, though a bit softer. We don’t use prong or shock collars. We also don’t use treats for that matter. Anybody who is interested in learning how we do what we do is welcome to join us for a consultation at no cost. Plan for an hour if you do. The free consultation is designed to ensure that owners understand our methods and are enthusiastically on our page. Unfortunately, we didn’t require this meeting of Jess as we took her in last minute as a recommend to help her out in a bind. I wish that Jess had taken the time to see the benefits of the special work we do. In most cases, the rewards are to be found on day one. Some of course take more than a few days. We’re with the dogs and available to their families 24/7, 365 days a year. They’re our lives, not a job. We wish Jess, Gigi, and Emily the very best as their family grows in the future. Jess, we’re always here for you if you’re reading this. As I offered privately through email, you are more than welcome to join us for a consultation yourself to put our methodology into a clearer context. Bless All!
Danielle and Kyle are knowledgeable and passionate for the work they do. They are responsible and keep their word in terms of commitment. Beyond that they have an amazing way with animals. Our pup is calmer, better behaved and much easier to walk and live with since he has been going to doggy daycare and walked by Kyle. They send me regular updates and pictures. I truly appreciate their expertise, honesty and advice. Highly recommended.Nov 18, 2015Verified

Danielle and Kyle took care of our 2 cats in our home for a week. It seems as though the cats were well cared for while we were gone, and we'll be using Mind of Dog for future vacations.Nov 8, 2015Verified
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We invite them over for a free consultation so that you can see our results firsthand before even paying a dime. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Mobility assistance training Bachelors degree Training over 1000 dogs
- How did you get started doing this type of work? The line of work picked me. I always wanted to help people. I thought I may do it in a more direct manner. In 2011, I started training my own dog that I had found as a service dog. Kyle and I worked together to train Mongrel as a service dog. We realized the importance of giving a dog a job. Mongrel helped me out while I was in a wheelchair. Our work and interest in dogs increased dramatically from this point.
