When you are inviting someone into your home, you not only need them to be knowledgeable and skilled on the desired task to be completed, but you need to feel safe and comfortable that you and your project are going to be well taken care of.
I am in the midst of doing a first full home renovation in NYC, which is no easy task, and my concrete floors needed to be removed asap in order to advance. The company that installed my floors previously did a poor job resulting in the floors to fail.
Luckily, I found GMA concrete and Giovanni and his team were ON IT from day one.
You have to understand that I'm the kind of person who says, "If I can do this myself, why would I pay someone else to do it". And I admit that I can be a bit of a demanding client - probably because I demand so much of myself - but Giovanni met me with patience and professionalism. He walked me through step by step the reasoning behind what he had to do and why. He was focused on finding long-term solutions for my floors instead of just the quick fix. He did the one thing that seems to always be an issue with people in this field of work... he communicated clearly with his client! His responses were timely, his demeanor was polished, his work was exceptional and on top of all that - he was just a nice guy.
With all of the understandable stress that goes into a home renovation, it was a comfort to know that I was in good hands. My only regret is that I didn't meet him sooner so that I could've had him do more on my project.
This is my first review on this Thumbtack thing and really my first review I've written on any site. I work what feels like 100 hours a week just to barely pay my mortgage so I really don't give my time to stuff like this - but I know that these blurbs are important for people who have to invite strangers into their homes. Obviously, I can't speak to anyone else's experience with GMA except my own - but in a world where people can make the choice do wrong and take advantage of their clients, its good to know that there are commendable people out there who are doing things the right way and it didn't feel right to let that go unnoticed. Feel free to email me on this thing if you need to. It might take me a sec but I'll respond.
