FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I think the pricing should always be a reflection of the quality of work. I don't seek to have the lowest price in the market. I want to offer the highest quality available. If the price is reasonable (considering what needs to be done..) ..then the quality becomes the issue.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We generally start with a free estimate. We come to the customer's home or place of business and do an inspection of the work to be done and give the customer a written estimate showing what the cost of labor will be, with a break down of the material and expenses. If the customer agrees to the price, we write a contract and set a start date at that time. If the customer needs time to consider the offer, we leave them with the written estimate and follow up later.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I bought my first house in 1992, I installed a stockade fence around part of my property. My neighbors on all three sides liked how I did it and hired me to do the same thing around their properties. After that I started to think differently about the building arts.
