I connected with Robert upon searching for a Tennis Instructor, he has been wonderful to learn from thus far. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and generally pleasant to work with during our lessons. I have seen fast improvements in my skill set and would absolutely recommend Robert to someone seeking tennis lessons in the NYC area.

Ron is such a special tennis instructor. My daughter could not make contact on the sweet spot of the racquet when first working with him. A week later she figured out how to hit topspin off both wings. I plan on my daughter continuing with him.

We have over 20 years of playing and teaching experience. We find the balance of fun and hard work, keeping things simple and entertaining.

Hi, my name is Sam. I began playing tennis when I was three years old. I began competing in junior tournaments when I was eight years old and continued to compete in tournaments through middle and high school. I played in tournaments all throughout the Southeastern United States and played in the Copper Bowl in Tucson, AZ. I was recruited to play for Davidson College in Davidson, NC, which is an NCAA Division I program. I was a starting player in singles and doubles all three years that I played, and I was team co-captain my senior year. I have taught lessons, clinics, and camps to students of all ages and a wide range of abilities. I prefer teaching more advanced junior players. What I value most, however, is a strong work ethic and personal interest in the sport. Though I usually curtail my lesson around the skill level of the particular player, there is a basic structure to each lesson. First, after warming up, I like to start off by working on a specific skill that the student wants or needs to practice. After doing related drills, I like to incorporate the particular skill through point play. At the end of the lesson, I like to use basic consistency drills to make sure that the student leaves feeling in tune with the ball.

"Own the Mound" was started in 2011 by Tom Mahony, a former professional pitching prospect and New York-state "pitcher of the year". Over the last three years, Tom has trained over 100 young pitchers in the tri-state area privately, professionally and successfully. It is Tom's proven ability to simplify and teach the proper and effective fundamentals of pitchers deliveries that has become a valuable "difference" when comparing his lessons to those standard, more common lessons we're all accustomed to. Countless references are available upon request at any time.
